yes, my pc detects it as USB2 LAN but goes on to say that the hardware is either not properly installed or the driver provided is not compatible with x64-based systems. i downloaded the software from the links provided but still nothing works. Is belkin F5D7050 v4001 compatible with x64? This thing is driving me crazy!

Is your belkin detected by your computer? If not then, try to connect in the other port in your system. if it was detected and hard to install the driver then maybe the driver is not compatible. try download the most latest driver here:
this is the lower version link:

this is the last option that i realize. did you install all the drivers of your system specifically the chipset of the motherboard.

The driver is provided in your system that let detect and make the system stable in all the hardware you inserted. It was enclosed it into your computer. If you have done this already disregard it. as go further research about your stuff there is know written document that this will not work in 64x system, however in your case if your installation of the system is perfect there is no reason that this not work. if ever your experience proved it that this not work in 64x , so therefore i recommend you to change OS or change the stuff to another brand name. these are all i can say and thank you very much.

2. On the top right corner, there will be a search by keyword, a small rectangular blue box
3. In that, type in: F5D7050 and press enter
4. It will give you search results, select the result that says "Drivers".
5. Select the appropriate version for your model. Belkin has 5 versions for the same model. Check for FCC no. on your device. There would be a table on that web page.
6. Verify, download and install

Belkin (F5D7050) 802.11a Wireless Adapter think ive installed this ok, device manager says working, but no flashing led on adapter on adapter software and says no network avalible however kids wireless...

Power off the computer, take out the adapter. move it to a different PCI slot, then restart.

If that does not work:
Uninstall the Belkin driver,
Power off unit . remove adapter.
Power on and install the drivers.
Power off once more and reinstall the card.
Restart and it should work.

Belking wireless adapter install

when you are advised to connect the usb adapter, it will recognise it, then the usb host controller is installed to recognise the adapter, but it should continue to instal the driver and then recognise it as Belkin 54g, if not, then you need to keep the cd rom in and then force it to install the driver from your cd drive, but it may not be compatable with ME unles you have a windows 2000 driver.

When the installation is complete you should in any case have the belkin software icon on your desktop to set up the adapter, if not then the software has not installed fully.

It will also be listed in add/remove programmes if it's fully installed.

Wireless adapter used to work, then stopped, then worked again, now can't be detected...

you mean that the adapter is not being recognised by the pc as a usb device, this adapter works better on a usb2.0 port, not as well on a usb1.0 port, depending on how old your pc is, try other ports., but you must uninstal the belkin driver from add/remove programmes, then install the driver again and inset adapter in a different usb port than before.

the adapter should then be found and click install driver automatically, but leave the cd in the drive as it normally picks the driver up again from the disk on it's own even after installing it yourself.

When installed i would recommend using windows wireless zero configuration (windows own software) instead of the belkin software, to do this right click on the network icon and select enable WZC (windows zero config), as this is a more stable programme for connecting your adapter signal to the router

Personally Belkin is poor in my opinion, netgear has better software and drivers, but it's belkin you have, so follow the above and it should be ok.

Belkin lost cd

The drivers available from Belkin are exactly the same drivers as are on the PC. Someone emailing you the drivers isn't going to get you any closer to a solution if you haven't got the ones you downloaded to work.

One problem you might be having is that the driver isn't the correct version. Belkin have five different versions of drivers for the five different versions of that model of card. Make sure you're using the right one. An article about the method of identifying your particular model, together with links to the various software packages can be found at

Drivers won't install

Two possibilites here
1. the driver CD is corrupt , though belkin is a plug n play adapter, there is no need to install the cd
2. Since you getting an excalmation suggests , windows recoganises the new hardware but fails to install.
The best option is either change the manufacturer of the adapter or reinstall windows , it should fix your problem
