There's no fixing this printer, but the scanner still works. However, since I accidentally hit start while in "copy" mode, the memory will not purge this job, and therefore I cannot proceed... Anyone have an idea on how to clear the internal print queue? Restarting does no good. Not a single button works.

Re: printer is broken, but I just want to scan!!
Please follow the below given instructions to get the issue resolved.
Please remove the All-in-One Printer from the Power Surge Protector and plug it directly into a wall Power outlet, as the surge protector may not provide enough power to printer.
Let us power cycle your All-in-one to remove any static electricity in your All-in-one.
Please perform the step given below to power cycle the unit after removing the print cartridges from the printer:
1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the USB cable from the computer. 2. Wait 30 seconds. 3. Plug in the power only 4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times. 5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.
Please try installing the below patch and check for the result:

I get the same thing when I try to scan but there is a work-around: Get a memory card and stick it in one of those many card slots on the right front of the printer. Then when you hit "scan to", it will prompt you to scan to the memory card. My printer is configured wireless so I am assuming that the scanner just doesn't work with that. Also, I'll bet if you can figure out how to get the file sharing option to work on the printer (it used to work for me but I have been to lazy to re-configure), I am sure you scanner will start working again.
Well you should make sure you have the Dell All in One printer installed from the CDs. If you can acess the Dell All in One Center from the start menu, then its installed. If they are installed then you should place anything in the scanning area, hit the menu button on your printer and scroll up to scan then hit start. 90% sure that it will work if not then you'll have to hit it again maybe. If you can see the image from the dell all in one center, on the right it says "Scan to: (or something similar)" with a drop down menu, hit the down arrow on the menu and then hit file, hit scan now and then you'll be prompted to pick the file location where you want to save it. Hope this helps.
i have found the way to scan items from a Canon MX310 (on windows)
1.On windows go to control panel 2. click hardware and sounds 3. then hit devices and printers 4. then click on the Canon Inkjet MX310 seriers 5. then you will see scanner management click on scan Photos or docs 6.then place the photo or doc under the scanner and hit scan!
That is all the steps you will need. 17 years old computer tech.
First do your scan on Dell 964 scanner &printer. Scan to clipborad. You hear it scan but nothing happens on your computer. Go to control panel - scanners and cameras - scan profiles - find the document you have scanned, select it and click edit - click preview - in the left corner you will see in blue "How to scan a picture" click that, it will lead you to Windows Photo Gallery - there click on file and import from scanner of camera - it will scan there and your scanned pics will be in your picture folder :) Took me a while to figure it out :) You can avoid all this and go directly to Windows Photo Gallery :)
