Re: vcr taping

You need to run the autotuning feature on the tuner setup page. It doesn't yet know what channels are available to it and is defaulted to the minimum.
Hope Ya Fix it!

I have an older tv with only a coaxial cable connection on the back, no others. I have a Magnavox dvd/vcr combo that does have RCA connections available and also a coaxial cable connection on the back. I...

First make sure you have the cable connected properly.. on the vcr it should be connected to the OUT coaxial connector.

Second.. the VCR usually has a VCR/TV setting..

Most TV's must be set to channel 3 or channel 4 to output the signal from the VCR when getting the signal via Coax.

So..insert a tape...hit play..tune the tv to channel 3 if you are not getting the playback the VCR/TV button on the vcr or vcr remote.

Repeat this on Channel 4

Check your cable to make sure the connections are tight.

Finally check your television menus for Input settings..make sure it is set to COAX/ANT
Make sure your VCR's output is not on some alternate output like L1 or L2 (line one or line two)

Best of luck!

Hos do you program the vcr to recorde a show withthe cable box

You need to connect the cable box to the VCR using a SCART lead. Note which input you connect it to on the VCR (usually called AV1 or 2, or L1 or L2) To record your show, put the cable box onto the desired channel, then set the vcr to the correct input. (on the remote there will be a button marked input select or AV or AUX) Now when you record, it will record whatever the cable box is showing. :)

I have a Sylvania DVD/CD player with VCR, model DVC841G, when I put in a tape to watch it it gets stuck and pulls the tape and breaks it, and won't play. This problem just started recently and it worked...

When trying to program a show on my Sylvania Model DVD/CD841G when it tells you to put in the channel it comes up automatically with L1 and L2. What is this and how can I fix it.

I can't manually setup the Channels on my Panasonic PV 9451 VCR

In the Menu go to manual channel set-up not auto. When you're in manual set-up change channels until you get to to L-1 and L-2 (should be below Ch 2) and save both to memory. On some TV's the L-1 and L-2 are selected with a separate button labeled "input".

Panasonic PV-9451 VCR, When setting up the VCR to record a channel, the only channel options are Channel 02 thru 25 and L1 And L2. What has to be reset with the digital cable input??

You will need to use L1 or L2 (one is probably on the front of the VCR, and the other on the back, they should be labeled).

YOu need to plug the digital receiver's output into L1, or L2, and set the VCR to record the one you're using. Then set it to the time you want, and then set the channel on the digital box tho the one you want.

One Channel, One time. (or recurring daily, if your VCR allows daily recording from L1,2)

No sound when recording channel 3

Is this when you are recording via CH 3 from a separate source? If so, try CH 4 or alternately, L1, L2 inputs.
