Optical mouse quit working on my notebook

My Logitech V220 optical cordless mouse suddenly quit working. I thought maybe it was the battery so I replaced it, however it still does not work. I've only had it for 3 months. When I try to use it after putting in the USB it does not move, even though the light will come on briefly.

My Logitech V220 seemed to just stop functioning after about a month.
Worked right out of package initially (Vista OS), but even with fresh battery, not recognized. Interested in any potential solutions. Thanks.
