My stanley oil fired range fires up then cuts out

  • Anonymous Dec 01, 2011

i have the same problem. turns out the pump is not kicking in in time so the boiler keeps knocking on and off. it should not until all the rads in the house are heated up to the temp set on the dial. think it may be a simple wiring problem as the pump needs to be on as soon as the boiler fires up and not turn off until water is up to temp.

When it is stone cold it will get reasonably warm, then cut out, if I ush the reset button after that, it'll fire u for a few seconds and then go out again. I don't trust the engineer I have who jsut kees getting new parts and charging me a fotrune.... can anybody advise please, he now tells me I need a new white box which he reckons is the 'brains' of it...

Hi, I have had the same problem with our range, what I done was change the nozzle and give all the fuel line and parts a good cleaning starting outside at the tank's filter through to the holder for the burner nozzle. The burner on my machine is a Ecoflam and I got some info here http://support.reznor.co.uk/attachments/Ecoflam%20Burner%20Instructions%20(LB193%2007.10.02)-GUID2d8401238de54242be4e8be4e5644ee6.pdf.Hope this helps.

I have a scag tiger cat stc52c-22fx and spark plugs with no spark

no engine of 3 told, KWAWaSKi , briggs or Kohler
22FX means .Kawasaki FX691V , bingo
this a lawnmower/ sure and is no car. or truck
sure
and like all lawnmowers that are huge.
they have 5 more more interlocks to keep engine dead.
here I will try to list some.
1; in gear, lockout.
2: blades activated lockout.
3: seat switch open no person seated. (lockout)
4: low oil pressure cranked, lockout.
5: cooling open lockout.
6: clutch engaged lockout.
7: brakes not locked. (to start)
or as you lost service manual shows. schematics will tell that that . for sure.
fuses blown?
connectors loose or fell off
keyswitch bad

spark magneto dead.
the answer is here,

the engine uses magneto to make spark and is defeated by engine connector black wire. jump to ground.
black wires on engine are coil wires spark and most not be grounded out, via safety switches.
the 12vdc does not produce spark at all. only he mag. does.
the carb has cut fuel wire green/white

I have a solid fuel Stanley super star we bought it 2nd hand it is leaking on the floor well send a picture can you please tell me what is wrong

At least you know why the seller was selling it :>)

It really depends on what you are using as fuel? What does the leak smell like? Some are oil fired, so it may be an oil leak? Or it could be condensation from the chimney. Burning wood can make lots of steam which condenses back to liquid.

Links to the maker's main distributor here

https://www.google.com/search?q=Stanley+super+star

and finally, leaking condensate seems common. If yours is oil fired, change 'water' in my search query to 'oil'. That is a popular 'feature' as well.

Rayburn nouvelle lockout light keeps coming on - we think it might be the glow plug as we are getting white smoke too... we have no idea how we check it. Any advice on problem solving it please

From my experience of oil fired heaters,

check the oil level

check the system for air. there is a bleed screw near the boiler

If you can get the impeller out, do so, and clean it. Check the bottom of the unit for condensed water.

Ultimately, you will probably need a service engineer. There is some help here

I have a wolfgang puck pressure cooker that keeps shorting out and tripping the gfci within 1-4 minutes. What can I do?

You may have a faulty GFCI...test it and again with a known good appliance.

If the GFCI holds, then you have a ground fault in the pressure cooker. Either disassemble the cooker to the electrics and fix the short or return the cooker under warranty.
Chances are you can even get a replacement outside of warranty if you talk nice to the company.
Google it and get the company website.
If you bought it from bed bath and beyond just return it, hopefully with the receipt.

Solution Beginning with FD 9612, wider tape was implemented in production. For units built prior to that time, service kit 12022532 is available. The new repair kit includes the control-mounting bracket with wider tape affixed to it, and four screws. The tape will provide more surface coverage to improve the support of the mounting bracket.

Alpha oil fired cooker (aga type) & central heating breakdown.

you dont say but i presume you have an early model 1996-2000. these had the most horrid burners ever. its wasnt untill later when the ecoflam burners were used that problems that you describe were elimanated as a standard every day problem. better still was the much later 800 series ecoflam twin burn as fitted in the rayburn 800 series this is the aga company that closed down the alpha and now produce the same cooker with better burners.
