Re: software problem

There is usually an IP address you have to type to get access to this hardware. Often you don't need the CD to install this hardware. The IP address is usually for routers. Sometimes they differ. To find out if you go to start then run. When a box appears type in there cmd then press enter on your keyboard. This should bring you to DOS. Black page with white text. If you type into that box ipconfig and then press enter on your keyboard. The IP address you see net to the default gateway is your router address. Writed down those numbers and that box you are in just type the word exit and press enter on your keyboard and that box will disappear.Type that IP address into your address bar by opening up your browser. This will bring you to the hardware page of your router. You can do all the confguring from this page. Sometimes a box with user name and password appears. The username is usually admin and the password is either password, admin or these is no password so you just press enter on your keyboard and then when you're in start configuring. Run the setup wizard first before you do anything else. Then I would go to wireless and password protect your network. I usually password the router as well. This option is in the setup wizard you did earlier. Good luck

Actiontec q1000 setup

Here is a general setup for this device, If further details are needed it is recommended to check the manual.

open a web browser on a computer connected to the device via a network cable (not wireless)
in the address bar type in

you will then need to login
the defaults are admin / admin for username and password.
You should then see the main configuration screen.
You may need to contact your ISP if special settings such as static ip, dns, or MAC address is needed.

Without knowing what exactly you need to setup, I would recommend going through each section and carefully reading what is on each page. Then modify ONLY those areas that you need.

cellphone shoes are very sensitive devices being a custom made unit. You probably broke it by kicking something or jumping or running too hard with them on.

How can I see what my WEP code is?

Hello !

Usually, the code is under your router.

If not, or doesn't work, contact your provider and they would provide, or they would help you reset your password.

Hope this helps.

Gateway M305 Internet Connection

The Gateway m305 has 3 WiFi hardware options, 2 Broadcom and 1 ActionTec. I have found at times that the wireless adaptor will have its own control and configure software running and it will not allow windows to manage it. If this is so you can manage the connection with the manufactures software or find the option in network connections in the properties of the wireless adaptor to allow windows to manage it. Either way should allow you to connect but I prefer to use windows management. I hope this is of some help. Good Luck
