Re: toshiba rear projection tv

Will the tv power up with the power button on the TV control panel? If so its your remote sensor inside the TV. Let me know your model number.

Tv wont come on

try a different socket, or if the socket has a reset button, press it. occasionally sockets go bad, lose charge, or just need to be reset.

How to replace power supply?

Toshiba model 57H93 worked perfectly last night. Turned off and went to bed. Turned on this morning, and nothing, it won't turn on. Checked all cords and cables, pushed reset button, and still won't turn on. What could cause this to happen?

My toshiba TP50H15 color tv comes on then off and the light blink

The flashing power light on those Toshibas is usually caused by capacitors on the power board having failed solder connections. I have fixed them before by removing the power board and resoldering the capacitors. If you have experience with soldering and electronics it is an easy repair. Most shops will recommend replacing the entire board since their labor to repair it would probably cost more. Toshiba put out a service bulletin on this issue which a good technician should be aware of. (If memory serves the capacitors are C109 and C110.  Since your TV still turns on you probably haven't blown fuse F860 which often blows when these capacitors act up.)
If you would like further help with this please post a comment back here.

When we turn on our Toshiba 50h81, it will work ok for 45-90 minutes, then without warning, the picture and sound will go off and the power light blinks. We have to let it set for awhile (I've never timed...

These Toshiba TVs have a problem on the power board that causes this issue and it is a common one. There are several capacitors on the power board that seem prone to coming loose over time. When they lose connection for a moment the TV's protection system steps in and cuts off power. This causes the 'blinking power light' issue. The last one I repaired was a 43V71 model and I re-soldered one loose capacitor on the power board and it has worked perfectly ever since. Toshiba put out a service bulletin on this problem. It is well known and well worth fixing.

TV turns off and power light blinks unpluged andd still does it.

Likely to be the STK convergence chips causing a protection circuit to switch the TV off. Have you got any onscreen convergence problems (i.e, colour fringes)?
