Nintendo DS lite bottom screen replacment

I replaced the bottom screen with an after market screen and now the unit will not power up with the new or old broken screen. Any idea what has happened? Is it fixable?

Hey, you need to check the ribbons that connect the various pieces. The DS will not boot up if some part is not connected properly. Make sure you have not torn any of the ribbons either.

You can find NEW Nintendo DS and DS Lite LCDs at the following website. They also do DS repairs. The DS LCD can be replaced -- it's not a very easy task but it can be done at a reasonable price:

Hey, you need a new outer case and a new top screen. There is a ribbon that comes out of the top screen on the top case and connects to the bottom one. There is a very good chance that ribbon has torn off. So you need to replace the top screen and a new outer case with a new hinge. I would send it to Nintendo, I believe they offer a flat rate service for the Nintendo DS Lite.

Ds not lite

Replace the connector cord between two screens. You can buy new ones from DX Deal extreme! Carefully remove through hinge and attach securely.

Be careful not to break the fine wires connecting. Have to twist the connector cord in the correct way to make it go through hinge without damaging.

Good luck cos it is a fiddly job.
