Re: Magic chef oven
Change the bottomignighter just because it glowesdoesn't mean its getting hot enough to open the safety valve you should see two screws at the bottom of the floor of the oven cavity after removing the racks remove those and remove the floor then you will see a deflector shield remove that to get access to the ignighter take out the two screws and install the new ignightor and reassemble

Your range has a small 3"x1"x1" metal box with a gas valve going into it placed right behind the broiler flame tube; this gas safety valve alows the gas to enter the "pilot" tube to be lit by an piezio electric ignitor: that is the clicking you hear when you try to operate the oven. this gas valve needs to be replaced as, it is not opening to feed gas to the ignitor. an appliance parts store will have the oven gas valve; it just screws into place. be sure to turn off the gas and, remove power to the range before you do any work on it.
Most likely a bad ignitor. Turn off the gas to the oven. Remove the racks, remove the bottom oven pan. Remove the flame spreader to access the ignitor. Use a volt meter. Inse the probes into the ignitor connector and turn the oven on to bake. No voltage reading is a bad ERC control. If you read voltage you have a bad ignitor.
Hey im sorry to hear that...
I fix many ovens., however not really familiar to yours...
However instead of searching for thermostat, try looking for either thermo-couple, falme flaiure device or falme safety device these are the three main termonologies used....
Hope this helps......
Im sorry cant provide you with a full on solution ... but my guess is that your is probably a thermocouple......
I have a magic chef gas range and the top of the stove burners work , the broiler works but not the oven..I think it is the glo bar. How the heck do I change this? It is a magic chef proven cooking performance from model # 8114p627-60 from about 1999
