DO NOT continue to try to charge that battery. The company recalled those batteries because they explode or start on fire. Do a google search of "mintek" and you can read about the recall.

SOURCE: Won't charge

Does anyone know the warranty on this product? We should file a class action suit because obviously we are all having the same problem with the charger and they must know about it. Mine is only a couple months old and used sparingly - now its dead. I called Audiovox at 800-645-4994 and went thru automated hell to speak with someone. They referred me to which sells parts (chargers) for the DVD player. That is totally bogus - they sell a bad product then want me to flip the bill to get it repaired. I don't think so.

SOURCE: My Portable DVD Player Battery can't hold a charge

Rechargeable batteries can only be recharged so many times. They begin to slowly lose their capacity after about the first 5 charges until ultimately it won't hold a charge anymore. It appears that this is your problem. Look for a model number on the battery & do a Google search for it if you want to try & replace it. You might also find it is cheaper to buy a whole new DVD player than it is to buy a replacement battery.

Charged battery only lasts 30 minutes

Try fully draining the battery and recharging it fully. If that does not work chances are the battery is going bad. How old is the dvd player ? If its still under warranty you might be able to get a replacement.
