Question about Panasonic PT-LB20NTU Multimedia Projector

PT-LB20VU unit won't power on

Hi, I have a projector model PT-LB20VU unit that won't power on. It was working perfectly fine, and then just shut off, went to orange cool-down mode for about 1/10 the time it normally does, then into Standby mode, and immediately all lights shut off. I've cleaned the air filter, cooled the unit, and vacuumed all the vents...

Is there anything else I can try at home before having to take this in to get service? There aren't any projector servicing places anywhere near me, and I doubt replacing the lamp will do any good, as I'm getting no notification that that's the problem. Any ideas?

Check for the following:-.
1--the power cord may be disconnected.
2--main power switch is turned off.
3---no voltage(electricity)in wall outlet.
4-the lamp cover has not securely closed.
5--check for blown power fuse and change it with the same rate.
6--defective power supply unit.---.

The main board of the projector needs replacement! not worth getting it replaced as it would cost very high! look out for a old working board that would cost lower!

After putting a new lamp in the projector in my PT-AE1000U, it turns off on it's own after 5 to 8 minutes of use. I was told it could be a BIOS setting that counts the hours of use that needs to be zero's...

Generally speaking a lamp timer is just a warning indication and won't shut the unit down. There should be indications of why the unit is shutting down. For example, is the power LED blinking or any other light blinking? My primary suspicion would be either an air flow problem or heat. Check to be sure that the fans are running properly.

Please update this with any additional detals.

Panasonic PT-AE900U Projector Lamp stops working (intermittent)

Could be a heat sensor, fan bearing issue..have you listened to the fan speed etc, But I think more along the lines of the lamp needs replacing..each time you resit it is thinking ah a new lamp and then realises hey someone is fooling me and shuts down...this scenario is doing you a favour as typically if it blew and shattered the glass it will inevitablly scratch the mirror and lcd block... and if it does that you might as well toss it in the rubbish or sell on ebay for $50 ..

Panasonic PT-AE700U

may be a heat problem: check the psu unit for components getting too hot...use a laser thermometer and keep you fingers away from the psu ! other possible problem may be a bad capacitor or the thermal protection before the psu..but this would be a very uncommon problem.

With power available at the projector and the lamp off (projector off) - hold the input button on and press the power button on and hold for 5 secs. This will reset the lamp timer to zero.

I wish they could have stuck this in the operators manual.
