Question about Necchi 3537 Mechanical Sewing Machine

Bobbin/raceway and timing problem; Necchi 3577

I was sewing a blanket and ran out of thread in th bobbin, I removed th bobbin and threaded it and put it back together as I have done a few times before raising th needle as high as possible. It seems to fit in there but when I test it to begin sewinging it backs a rattling sound. The needle then gets caught( but doesnt break) in the mechanism when the it goes down to cathch th thread from th bobbin. It might be th timing, I was told that I could adjust it my self with some patience. On occation th bobin mechanism will pop out before or as th needle gets caught. I reaaly like this machine and it has only been used a few times so its is literally like brand new. From what I gather th machine has to be turned on its side to adjustr that section of the machine. I dont know much about sewing and have done this more or less by trial and error so if I could get some detailed instuction on this matter would be great. I am waiting for my instuction manuel to get here but I dont remember anything like this in th instuction manuel. Kaidengehn@hotmail.com

After alot of patience I finally got this thing running. I tried adjusting th timing and at first I had a hell off a time. The schematics I had were hard to read and very unclear. Eventually I took everything apart and started from scratch. Replaced th needle and thread, got a new bobbin and treaded that, wiped all the oil off as best I could and reoiled with "turbine oil"( its used for engines and does break down and get too messy and last longer), after replacing all that I was finally able to time it. Really I think that I had a variety of problems but the timing was really off. It seems to be running fine now and may be abit better. Thanks to ya'll. (By the way I really recommend turbine oil, I got mine in an A/C wholesaler but you can find it at any home department store, it doesn't break down either which gets black and gritty) In any case the problem is fixed. Thanks Guys!

I'm having the same problem. This is my first sewing machine and it was given to me new as a gift. How exactly do I adjust the timing?

Ok.....without the bobbin case in and a fresh needle in, turn the machine to the side and turn the crank wheel counter clockwise, the hook of the machine should bypass the cusp of the needle, thats the part of needle that is by the eye and curves in alittle, if it is not the timing is off, try to adjust this by adjusting the needle bar, this is not a easy easy repair but takes patients, im assuming that, thats where it was thrown off timing

Necci 752 manual is needed.problem with threading and stitching

Hm, I'm not able to locate a manual but may be able to offer some suggestions.

Remove the top thread from the machine.
AVOID OLD OR BARGAIN BIN THREAD!
Use the same thread in top and bobbin.
Be sure to use a brand new needle--needs to be compatible with the thread and fabric of the project..
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Set the top tension to the midway point.
Verify the bobbin is loaded and threaded correctly and it turns the correct direction.
Pull the bobbin thread up through the fabric before taking the first stitch. It also helps to hold both thread tails in your left hand when taking the first stitches.
Test your machine and tweak the top tension until the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric. (Increased top tension will pull the bobbin thread up. Decreased top tension will allow the bobbin thread to pull the top thread down.)

Necchi 575FA how to put the bobbin spool in the case?Bobbin mats up with a lot of threads on the bottom stich.

The problem most likely is not the bobbin. The problem is the top thread. If thread is knotting, tangling under the fabric, it is a top thread problem.

Remove the top thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.

If there are still thread clumps under the fabric, you will need to increase the top tension. (The extra thread appearing under the fabric is excess top thread hanging up under the fabric.) You may need to keep adjusting the top tension until both top & bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

HELP PLEASE!!!! Need to figure out how to fix a Singer's Sewing Machine's drop in bobbin casing for my Singer 90s Special Edition???

Sounds like bird nesting or thread nesting (a user error), where there are thread "barfs" under the fabric. This is caused by the top thread not being seated in the tension disk. Remove the thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the upper thread!!! Rethread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Set the upper tension at the midway point between high & low numbers--you'll probably need to tweak it for your particular machine.

Remember, when experiencing problems, install a brand new needle. Remove the thread from the machine, RAISE the presser foot, and rethread from the beginning.

It also helps to always pull the bobbin thread to the top of the fabric, gently hold both thread tails in your left hand, and then slowly take the first couple of stitches.

My pfaff 4.2 keeps saying remove thread jam under the stitch plate. I have cleared everything several times but it keeps coming up on the screen.

Candace, while not familiar with the 4.2, I've had thread jams on my trusty old Pfaff. I hope this helps!

If you are able to totally remove the bobbin cover/stitch plate, please do so. Ideally, there will be one or two screws holding it in place.

remove the bobbin

carefully inspect the bobbin housing; thread likes to hide behind the housing. If you find some thread, use a tweezers to remove it.

If no thread is found, see if there are one or two screws holding the bobbin holder/raceway in place, or just a lever. Try to remove the bobbin holder, carefully noting what the orientation is of all pieces is (using a cellphone to capture pictures of before and after is great!).

Clear any threads from the raceway, carefully re-assemble everything, test and good luck!!!

I have my machine threaded and it runs with no beeps however it is not sewing the material together

I'm wondering if you have the flat side of the needle in correctly. If your bobbin assembly is in the front of the machine, the flat side should be towards the back. Also, check to make sure your needle is ALL the way up in the needle clamp.

Help with Euro Pro 9000, the thread keeps getting tangled up in the bobbin area..

When I had this problem, even though I have been sewing for years, I was just not threading the needle properly. Make sure the presser foot is raised when you thread the needle. Another reason is that the thread is too old, the needle is not the correct size or type for the material, neither is the thread. Hope this helps. It's usually nothing to do with the bobbin, but the upper thread.
