Question about Toshiba CZ27V51 27" TV
I'm a Systems Engineer and my father has a Toshiba CZ27V51 TV that started to exhibit intermittent tuner drop outs where the tuner drops the TV signal and goes static until you wiggle the coax cable a little. Once you wiggle it, the problem goes away for few but reoccurs. It seems to be a possible failure with the tuner control card and/or board. I opened up the unit but was unable to see any damage other than a loose cable on the tube itself which was reseated. I wanted to inquire if others have seen this issue and if Toshiba has any solutions towards salvaging a some what good and decent tv.
Check where the F connector is soldered inside the tuner circuitry, it may have a loose solder joint there. Also check the inside of the connector where the coax is attach, sometimes the inside conductors spreads and do not make good electrical contacts.
