I got this error message a few months back but due to school i couldn't get away until now to do anything about it. i tried everything from rebooting to reformatting and nothing helped, at best i got a few mins of gameplay before it froze up or just died on me. i got an 80gig ps3 and from what i have read online this error message occurs most on the 80 gigs.
i'm just going to go back to the store where i got it, because i got the replacement plan just in case something like this might happen. they said they would send it to sony and i would get a new/refurbished one. i only hope they send me an 80 like what i sent in.

I just spoke with PS customer service, and they said that there is no solution for this error code. It's fatal. On the plus side, they are sending me a replacement and the customer service folks were very helpful and polite.

Unfortunately this is typically due to a fault in the PS3 - most likely a problem with the Blu-Ray drive. Sony should send you a box to mail it to them and then it can be repaired if you are still under warranty.
