Question about Samsung HCN4226W 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I recently changed the convergence board because the old one was faulty. Now everything works fine but have some weird vertical squiggly lines running through the screen. Can really only notice them on certain colours. I adjusted the manual convergence ( which were way out of focus) but still no difference. I also played with the other adjustments on the Tv. This is a learning thing for me so I probably missed something or touched the wrong thing. It was doing this right after I changed the convergence board. Any kind of assistance would be great.
Lets start withe the first guy, when you say you tryed some other adjustments does this mean you may have turned the screen sup to far for the CRT's this will produce a bad pix with what is called retrace lines, Best way to see if this happened is to get the set to a input that has no video, or in other words get the set to show you a black pix, now if the lines are there or a color is preasent the the screen control is not adjusted right. Now on some Samsungs there is a control box with six knobs on it mounted just in front of the CRT's (Or behind the speaker grill) On other Samsungs these are mounted directly on the CRT driver boards. Either way the setup is the same, from a black screen turn the control clockwise till the color or retrace line appears then turn it back tilll it goes away, do this to all three colors and see if your problem goes away, What this does is roughfly grayscales your tv
