Don't panic, I'm sure your photos are still on the memory card. Have you tried to download them to your computer?

You are in luck. I hope we are talking about a SD Chip...

The chip has lost only the index info file, the photo will always be there on the chip unless over written or reformatted.

GOTO: One of many recovery programs, one is listed below.

www.recuva.com

Download, install and put the chip in your PC and recover the files.

Sony cybershot H-55 shows 'NO MEMORY CARD' message

The sony cameras are very picky on memory cards. They only work with the some types memory stick duo. But if the card already did work in your camera, you should check the contacts on both the memory stick and in the camera. You also need to check if you did not try to put it in the wrong way around. It should not be possible to reverse the memory stick, but if you don;t know your own strength damage on the memory stick and camera can be done.
Please if possible try to read the memory stick in the card reader on your PC. and look if you did not damage the contacts on the stick and in the camera.

My camera is showing fomat error what do i do?

Format error message is shown when an unformatted Memory Stick Duo is inserted or when the internal memory is experiencing some problems. The only solution is to format your internal memory or memory card. Please note that formatting the internal memory or memory card irrevocably erases all data, including even protected images.

Hope you are satisfied with my solution. Thanks for choosing Fixya.

My dsc-w80 keeps saving all of my pics to the internal memory

Set camera on playback mode, you will see any saved picture in internal memory. Insert memory card and lcd screen will show you either blue screen if memory card has no picture files or will show you picture in memory card. That means memory card is intact with camera and ready to store fresh picture.
Set camera to camera mode and take few fresh pictures and check them in playback mode.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Says to reinsert memory card & card is in camera. Try another card & says memory stick formatting error

i have the same problem..
I have a Sony Cybershot DSC T70 and it keeps saying "Reinsert memory stick" whenever I turn on the camera or slide down the camera lid. Also, whenever I try to view the pictures on my laptop it shows "Please reinsert the memory stick" something along those lines. As I have been researching for the solution, I would have to format the memory card. However, I wouldn't want to lose the pictures as I just took many as from the holiday last week. The only problem is the memory card, I tried using another memory card and it works fine with the camera. There is nothing wrong with the camera.\r\nCan someone please help me how to solve the memory stick problem? It would be great. Ty.

Error message: Reinsert the Memory Stick"

The problem is with the memory card. It probably just shorted internally and is no longer useful. The amount of memory is not the problem, as I used a 4GB card for a long time and my card finally went bad. You will just have to get another memory card and MAYBE find someone to be able to retrieve your data.

Transfer pics from internal memory to memory stick

look im sorry to be so mean. but come on dude... it has a "USB PORT"! you take the memory card out of the camera first, then you plug it(the camera) into the computer and turn it on and it will automatically show up as "Sony MemoryStick" in "my computer" then navigate to the obvious file containing directory. copy and paste them to where you please...

keep in mind you have to be set to "Normal" mode for it to work or you may have trouble. hit the menu button to explore the 3 option menu. you cant get lost.
