1 put on hold and hold record button while u turn on (your sansa is now in recovery mode) 2 connect your sansa to your comp via usb cable a box should show up saying the firmware version 3 close the window and disconnect your sansa (it will restart)
if that doesnt fix your problem try this...
1 connect your sansa to comp via usb cable 2 right click start on windows desktop go to explore 3 scroll down to your sansa's drive rifght click it go to properties 4 go to tools tab and click "check now" under error checking will take awhile and will erase your memory on the sansa but it will work again
I expected to find the new playlists on the SD card as a separate file to access and play. Instead the SD card songs show on up the Sansa menu simply added among the existing songs / artists stored in the Sansa. Its not a solution but they are there. Since using the SD card, my Sansa does databse refresh everytime it starts, whether SD card is in it or not.
The instructions with pictures are on pp. 13-19 of the user's manual:

You can transfer music from your computer to the Sansa player using the dragand-

4. Double-click on the MUSIC folder.

Computer\Sansa e200\...\MUSIC.

in the personal Music, Pictures, and Videos folders that belong to
other users on your computer.
Make sure you have synced the songs properly. Try the windows media player. Sometimes when you add songs it just adds it to computer part but does not sync. If u can add how downloaded the songs to your description.
I never use Windows Media to add music to my sansa... If you want all music to show up click on my computer and then click on the icon for your sansa. there may be a folder that says music but if not it is a hidden folder. if this is so you must go to tools, then folder options, and then the tab that says view. under this will be an option that says hidden files and folders and click show hiden fles and folders and OK. this should allow you to see the music folder. from here on you can just copy and paste all files.
two suggestions: put player in msc mode by going to the settings menu and choosing USB mode, then change to MSC then plug in and open the player in My Computer menu if you do not see songs on the player, back out and format player at the drive letter prompt, then add songs either manually, drag and drop to the player (not the music folder!) or sync the songs with windows media player 10 or 11
The only way I know to delete music files or voice or FM recordings, is straight from the User's manual on the CD:
1. Set the e250 to MSC mode.
2. Plug it in to your computer with the USB connector.
3. Open the Sansa e250 drive in My Computer and browse to the MUSIC folder (or RECORD folder)and delete the files there. (That's where you also add music files, by dragging from other explorer windows.)
To delete (or add) photo and video files, you have to use the Media Converter, which you install from the disk that came with the e250.
