MY RELIANCE WATER HEATER SHUTS OFF AND I HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING THE RESET BUTTON. HOW CAN I FIX THIS?

Why Does My Electric Water Heater Reset Button Keep Tripping? So the red reset button on your electric water heater keeps popping out and needing to be reset.
Here's the most likely problem: The water in your water heater is getting too hot.
When the water temperature in your water heater exceeds 180°, the red reset button (also known as the high-limit switch) trips. This tripping protects you from getting scalded or burned when using hot water in your home.
OK, but then what's causing the water in your water heater to get so hot? The most likely cause is a bad thermostat.
How a bad thermostat causes your water heater reset button to trip Electric water heaters have a lower and upper thermostat-one for each heating element.
The thermostats are responsible for controlling the heating elements. When the water has cooled off, the thermostats kick on the heating elements to heat the water. And once the water has reached your desired temperature, the thermostats shut off the heating element.
(This is very similar to the way your heating and air conditioning thermostat controls your home HVAC system.)
But these thermostats can go bad. When they do, they sometimes get stuck in the "on" position. This means that that the heating element continues to heat your water, eventually causing the high-limit switch to trip.
The fix: The bad thermostat needs to be replaced. A plumber can use a multimeter to test the thermostats and find out which one is bad.
Other problems that can cause your high-limit switch to trip While a bad thermostat is the most common reason your water heater's reset button may trip, it's not the only one. Other common causes include:
  • A shorted heating element-It may be that the thermostat is working just fine and shutting off the heating element. But a short in the element is causing it to continue to heat your water.
  • Loose wiring-A loose wire in the water heater can generate heat that can cause the high-limit switch to trip.
  • Bad high-limit switch-The switch itself may be malfunctioning and tripping when it shouldn't be.

How do I start a 1973 komfort travel trailer water heater?

See if big red knob has a PILOT or LIGHT setting and put it on that setting. Next look at knob on bottom-- it should have a circle cutout on it that needs to align with the pilot push button. The cutout lets the button be pushed in. While holding button in---light the pilot and keep holding the button in for about 3 minutes. If everything is working right with the water heater, after 3 minutes or so you can let go of the button and the pilot should remain on. If it stays on. turn the smaller button to the run or heat position and the big burner should come on. Then set the big heat control knob for the heat setting you want.

I have a ravenheat combi boiler how do i reset timer so the heater and water stay on all the time

To reset the timer on a Ravenheat combi boiler so that the heating and water stay on all the time, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Locate the timer/programmer on your boiler, which is usually located near the control panel.
  2. Press the button labeled "Program" or "Timer" to enter the programming mode.
  3. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the desired on and off times for the heating and water.
  4. To keep the heating and water on all the time, set the on time to 00:00 and the off time to 24:00.
  5. Press the button labeled "Program" or "Timer" again to save the new settings and exit programming mode.
Please note that if you want to keep the heating and water on all the time, it will be more energy-efficient to turn off the boiler or lower the temperature instead of leaving it on all the time.

Mod.Hp980PT, red and top green light flash, no heat

This is a very common feature on these types of simple, high-volume, low-cost home appliances known as a safety fault. This fault will temporarily (or permanently) disable the appliance and happens for several reasons: (1) an over-temp (high heat) occurrence, (2) an over-power (power surge) occurrence, (3) an under-power (power outage or trickle power) occurrence, (4) an over-time occurrence (auto-off fails), (5) a short-circuit occurrence (exposed/crossed/frayed wires, etc.). Fortunately, it uses a digital "fuse" system and can be reset by the user. However, there is no universal reset process on SoftHeat products so you just have to play with it until you figure it out (customer service dept is no help). Mine is a Kaz SoftHeat HP980PT, with a red power indicator/power-off button and 4 green heat setting buttons. Mine faulted after a heavy storm caused multiple power outages and power surges in my neighborhood. The green light on the highest heat setting button was flashing on mine. Here's how I fixed it: (1) unplugged both ends of power cord and straightened out the cord, then plugged back in to the heating pad end. (2) While holding down the flashing light button, I plugged back in to the wall outlet. (3) While still holding down the flashing light button, pressed and held down the red power-off button, then while still holding down the red power button, I released the flashing light button, followed by releasing the power-off button. This stopped the flashing green light and caused the red power indicator light to stay on (steady-on). It works fine now. Note: Some models have an actual hard fuse in addition to the digital fault feature or possibly only a simple fuse (without the digital fault system). These fuses can the found at many retail stores and then very easily replaced. I hope this helps some of you!!!

What does a blue light mean on my aerochino? thanks.

Means you are not heating your milk, the frothing milk will be cold (for iced drinks) because you have held the button down longer than normal. Usually it takes 5 Seconds for the blue light to go on. try turning it on or pushing the button faster, It should turn on red, for heated and frothed milk.

How do i use the reset button to turn the hot water to star heating again?

turn the dial to pilot and push and hold down red button while you light the pilot located inside water heater beside burner, keep holding button down after pilot is lit for about 1 minute. If you let go and pilot goes out repeat above steps and make sure pilot flame is heating up the thermal couple. If that fails replace themal couple.
