One of the 2 breakers for dryer flipped off,

One of the 2 breakers for dryer had flipped off, yielding spin but no heat. What would cause breaker to flip? Last time we used it, ran several loads before I noticed the clothes were dry, but cold. Thought at the time it was backdraft from the vent and our extreme cold weather.

This is a strange situation.

I would normally expect a electric dryer to rujn on 220 volts which would be provided through a tandem breaker, When one flips off, the other must flip off, they are fastened to gether.

I would expect a gas dryer to operate on 110 volts and the poser to come throlugh one breaker. The motor would run but that is not to say the gas will burn to make the heat.

I suppose yoj could have a 220 Volt Gas drier, but there would be little benefit based on the added expense of the motor.

If you are certain you have two breakers for your dryer, it might be time to have a electrician take a look-see

My oven and cooktops do not reach high temperatures is it because i have 210 volts reaching the range?it must be 220 v exactly?

no you need to double check the breaker. Best thing to do is to flip it all the way off and then wait a minute and flip it back on. Make sure it stays in place in the on position. Your electric range or dryer can act as though it is fuctioning by all the lights working and timer or on a dryer it can spin but not fully heat. This is caused by a bad breaker or one of the two legs of the 220 not working from the main breaker panel. Using a meter you can test and see if you are getting the 220 or if it is only registering about half of that. 210 should be plenty to fully heat up. Hope that helps. Double check that breaker and make sure it fully locks in the on position.

Kenmore Dryer -will spin but not heat and dry

The ohms reading on a heating element should never be zero. The resistance is what turns electricity into heat. You may have gotten a bad part. Check it again with NO power to the system. Unplug it or flip the breaker to be sure. You should definately get a reading on a good element. Good luck

Dryer is flipping breaker after 10 minutes into dry cycle.

You have a weak circuit breaker . Should be a 30 amp or higher . If you have access to an amp meter , split the dryer cord , separating the 3 wires (do not remove the insulation ) . If you have a black round cord ( 4 prong ) , carefully slice into and remove the black insulation in a small portion only . Check the amps on both outer wires while running dryer . Make sure the amps being pulled are lower than the circuit breaker amps . On a black cord , test the black wire and the red wire amps . If the dryer has a short , it would not run for 10 min and then throw breaker . It would be almost imediate . A bad breaker will gradually get hot and then flip , but check the dryer amps anyway to be sure .

Elecrtic dryer spins but no heat on any of the settings

You need to replace the heat element. It's a relatively easy & inexpensive repair, using only basic hand tools.

Dryer flips the breaker ran 4 1 year and nothing changed started this 2 days ago any idea about the

If its tripping your breaker either the motor is seized for some reason (easily tested by trying to turn the motor pulley by hand), or something in it is shorted out, most likely thing to short out and trip a house breaker is the heating element.

You can easily test the heating element as the possible cause by taking the 2 wires off the element connector, tape up these wires so it doesn't short out, plug the dryer in and try to run it. If its the heating element shorted out then the dryer will now run without tripping your breaker but of course not heat. If so replace the element.

MYELECTRICDRYERISNOTHEATINUP

Your dryer may not be heating because the electric elements have gone bad on your unit. Replacement is easy enough although purchasing the element box may be costly. First check your breaker box to see if it has tripped the breaker, on occasion only half the breaker will flip so that the dryer will run but not heat up. Flip the breaker all the way off then back on and see if that helps, if not get ready to purchase elements.

LG Front loader Electric Dryer want heat but will run and spin

If your dryer doesn't heat, check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Wiring
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

My dryer will come on and drum spins but the heat does not work. the model # is FEFB9100ES0

!st...Check your fuse box or circuit breaker panel.
If you have fuses, you need to locate the 2-30 amp fuses that control your dryer and replace both of them.
If you have breakers, locate the the 30 amp double pole breaker that controls the dryer. Flip the breaker to OFF, then back to ON.
Check your dryer operation and if the issue still exists, decide whether you want to D.I.Y. or call a tech.

If you want more assistance, feel free to write me back, or go on-line for expert service.

Thank you,
