Question about Apple iPod nano

1 Answer

IPOD My Nano seems "frozen". There is a checkmark and a notice that says OK to disconnect - like it does when I'm synchronizing, but this just happened after I turned it off and tried to turn it back on. When I plug it into my computer, I get a message that says the UBS device is not recognized and to replace it.

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

I pod is frozen in Synchronizing plugged in and out and back into

Have you already attempted to reset the iPod?
If not you will want to attempt that as your first step towards resolving this issue.
To do so you will need to simply press and hold both the center and menu buttons for at least ten seconds or until the apple icon appears on the screen.
If this does not resolve your issue please do let me know.
Also in the future if the iPod seems to be frozen on the do not disconnect screen, shut down the computer and reset the iPod before disconnecting it. Improper disconnection can cause hardware corruption.

Its frozen and the buttoms are not working

Please wait for your ipod to discharge all the power it might even take 2-3 days to discharge the power Then after the ipod is completely empty (which means its off and needs to be charged) you can connect it to your computer. Please make sure your computer is scanned from viruses. You can also scan your ipod from viruses. Never unplug your ipod before it completes synchronizing. You dont need to worry! its normal for ipods to behave that ways :)
