When dvd is inserted and lid closed, we push play and it just keeps spinning really, really fast with a strange noise. The screen says loading but it just keeps spinning and spinning way too fast. Can this be fixed? Is Mintek Digital really out of business. Thanks, Melanie

Check the motor if its spinning or not.If it isn't spinning fast enough that you need to lubricate the motor from the underside so that the lubricant doesnt go on the lens. But if its spinnig fast enough that maybe the lens isnt picking and needs cleaning or replacing..Good Luck
Technika HDMISS10 HACK. 1.open tray. 2.insert any disc. 3.press set-up. 4.from language menu, select "encoding". 5.press play. 6.select "unicode". 7.press play. 8.press set-up. 9.VERY IMPORTANT!! close draw, press "zero" fast as you can while disc is loading. "not allowed at moment" appears in top right of screen but keep pressing "zero" fast as you can and it will change to "O". player is now multi region.
if you look on the top cover inside you should see a round plate that sit on the DVD when you close the cover if this plate press hard or loss it will not have the correct speed in this plate there is a clutch see if its not to lose
hope it will help
If there's no spinning noise check that it is closing completely (lid usually makes contact with something inside to initiate loading).
Alternate possibilities - check battery may not be holding a charge, charger may be bad - also if player has a lot of miles on it the motor may have burned out
No it isn't, because your switch isn't tripping when you close the DVD. Try holding the lid down with your hand and listen for spin. If your DVD starts spinning you will need to locate the plastic pin protruding from your lid and extend it with superglue and a piece of cardboard. This will make up for the warp in your lid, and allow the switch to close.
