Question about HP Photosmart C4280 Aio Printer
I'm able to print an alignment page fine, but the scanner scans the alignment page but doesn't recognize it??? WTF am I doing wrong?
I have had the same problem. When I was trying to fix it, noticed that my color cartridge was almost empty. I understood the alignment page was not prepared well. After changing cartridge, I prepared a new alignment page, then tried it and it worked

Tricky thing about the alignment page is that it has to be in the exact spot for the printer to pick up that it is actually on the glass. I think that it needs to be face down and in the bottom right hand corner. If it still does not recognize I would leave the printer turned on but unplug it from the wall. This should do something similar to a power reset and then wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. As always printers should be plugged into the wall and not into a surge protector.
Also the alignment scan does not show on the computer so if it isn't showing up that is normal. If it's saying that it's not detected try the above steps.

I had this problem too - try new cartridges as it has to be printed clearly not 'draft'
