Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Can't take pictures

I think the sensor that opens the lens is not working. I can view photos in play but nothing else. In any other mode it just tells me to turn camera off and on again. Is there anything I can try?

I seem to have the same problem. All functions appear to work except pressing the button to snap a picture or change the zoom.

This also happened to me the other night taking pics of my kids - I moved to the other side of the room and the camera stopped working. The lens tries to focus and then gives the error message to turn off the camera - HELP!

I have nikon coolpix s210. when i turn on the camera, the view finder screen is black, i cannot take pictures as they come out black. though the flash and other functions work well. i can also see photos...

This problem (the screen with no picture) can be caused by a number of problems). One is that a connection with in the camera has disconnected. Another is the possibility of the LCD being bad or broken (some of these LCDs are hard to detect broken screens). Another problem could be with in the circuits has stopped working. Another could be that there is a problem with the CCD sensor. If any menus can be shown, then the problem is within the lens or sensor or something related. If you can see nothing on the screen, no matter what you pick, then the problems are harder to detect as to what is wrong.

I cannot see anything when in camera, film, or view mode. When I snap a photo, it sounds like a picture was taken and the flash still goes off, but nothing is displayed on the screen. Only when I attempted...

Does it show pictures on the computer or is it black images, if they are black, your cameras lens cover could be stuck, it opens up when the lens is fully open, dirt-sand and dust or old grease causes the problem. otherwise your LCD on the camera could be off by mistake, (Do a camera reset) or a bad LCD

Problem with canon a420 digicam

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Note that your camera will not be able to take 15 second exposures, as per the above "fix". Instead, place the camera in manual mode, turn off the flash, and take the exposures in a darkened room. This should give you a couple seconds, just enough time to open the battery door while the red and yellow lights are flashing.

Screen is black for photo taking

Not really a solution, but I think you have the same problem I do. I believe that the shutter is sticking. Mine will work for one shot every 3 or 5 power cycles (turn it off and on again)

How to view

There are two ways to view the photos, in the camera...

1) if the camera is OFF and the lens barrier is closed, just press the Play (>) button once to view the photos.
2) If the camera is in SHOOTING mode with the lens barrier open, press the Quick View button twice in rapid succession.

When you are done reviewing the pictures, press the Quick View button once to turn the monitor off, OR, to return to the shooting mode, press the shutter button halfway.

Then use the arrow pads to go forward and backward.

Hope this helps.

Strange picture appears in CCD

I see this problem everyday : the CCD sensor is faulty ( see enclosed pic from a canon camera with similar specs ) this is why you can not capture normal undistorted images but have no problem with playback .Fortunately Casio will repair this free of charge so contact your agent.1057f04.jpg
