I just got 2 more ps3 for total of 3,why cant we join each others games?when I or they invite each other we get an error and cant join a game together.
Using a D-link 624 router with DMZ on the PS3s IP, and opened all ports that I know of for playing Call of Duty 4 on the PS3. Everything works until I try to invite someone to my party, then it just waits.... and waits..... till I have to exit out of the lobby then back in. The oddest thing is that others can invite me with little to no issues and we will be able to play at least 1 full round with out issue.Using a D-link 624 router with DMZ on the PS3s IP, and opened all ports that I know of for playing Call of Duty 4 on the PS3. Do a connection test and make sure that your NAT Type is 2, any other number will cause issues with games with friends. If its any number than 2 do a factory reset on your modem/router and if that doesn't do it then go into your modem/router configuration and set your PS3 as a DMZ host and that should take care of the problem.
Try turning off your console and turning it back on- that's what I did. Are you using a wireless adapter? If so, then it may have trouble connecting. Try moving it to an area closer to your router. Also, the cod5 servers **** lol, so it may clear up in time. If you haven't checked already, make sure his game isn't full.
The problem is your internet is not good enough to host or join their game. There is probably some type of connection problem or their game is full. Hope this helps.
Welcome to the servers at call of duty :) I've got a ps3 and call of duty 4+5, half the fun of the game is playing with a mate and I've had exactly the same problem as you. It just seems to be about trial and error sometimes, have tried connecting like you for over an hour before and then on other days it just connects wth my mate straight away. Sometimes it helps to join a game(so you can see and hear other players) then invite your mate, if he/she to reply to your invite is quick sometimes you can get in that way. The only other bit of advice is to try different times of the day as the load on the servers does change throughout the day, apart from that it really is an issue with activision and for me the playstation network hope it gets better for you tim
got the same problem sometimes. it always happened when my or my friends router reconnected or lost internet connection. we fixed it by restarting the router and relogging into the network
There are lots of reasons for this, you don't match the ranking requirements, the room is full, network or host error. Nothing to worry about, just try another room.
On the Ps3 that isn't working, go into the settings and see if there is something under it that is prevent invitations or friend requests. It will probably be under parental controls or network settings. If someone else hosts the game can that Ps3 join. Also try and get the messed up one connected by ethernet cable and not wireless, it may be cutting out as there are 3 ps3's and probably multiple computers hogging the signal.
