Hoover steam vac spin vac making loud noise sparks flying

The only source for electrical sparks is the motor so it must be checked. Bad motor brushes or a broken wire are possible causes. Do not use in this condition.

Hoover F7458-900 SteamVac The brushes quit

My Hoover F7458-900 was doing the same thing, brushes not turning and since it is about 7 years old and out of warrenty I decided I had nothing to lose so I took it apart after reading all the other posts on this problem. The brushes are actually turned by a turbine motor (no belts involved) that runs off air produced by the vaccum motor of the unit. The air turns a metal spindle that then turns several nylon gears in the turbin the last of which turns the brushes. The nylon gear that engages with the metal spindle was worn down to the point that it was no longer engaging with it and thus not turning.
The only fix for this problem is to buy a new turbin motor which is not that expensive about $34 plus shipping since they don't sell just the nylon gear. Hope this helps

Hoover SteamVac isn't extracting solution from carpet. Motor runs and the brushes weren't turning at first but do now

That vacuum is fine on liquid extraction but often gets clogged by debris when it hits a solid. It would be better to do the clean with the steamvac then follow it with a wet/dry shop vac to be sure you got all the water. I say this because the vac built into that hoover is way too easy to clog.

Hoover SteamVac F6030-900. Does not **** up

check the black plastic motor cover. these frequently melt and loose seal due to the extreme heat of the motor. if the plastic is warped, then that is the problem. also check for hair and cloggs throughout the suction ports

I have a Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 that I purchased approx 6 mos ago. It just started having the following problem. When I turn the cleaner on there is a sudden burst of solution/foam that emits out to...

Mine has been doing that occasionally, and I have ordered the pump assembly, #H43582003 which several have suggested is where the problem is. This leak, along with loss of solution going to the hand tool, seems to indicate that the pump is not working properly, and is leaking. Something about a float getting stuck, which makes sense, cause it stops leaking when the unit is tilted back a couple inches.

My hoover dual v steamvac make loud noise and sparks

Be careful. This could be a shorted wire inside where the motor is. If there is sparks , something is exposed and touching. The motor also may be ready to give out. Unless your daring enough to open the whole thing up I would bring it to a shop or replace it.

Lost suction

there is a screen by the brush that may be clogged. Make sure the water tank is on tight

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It could be the trigger assm could be broken and is not releasing the solution and or water, or the valve under the water solution tank is not releasing the solution. Please check with your owners manual in the trouble shooting manual or if you do not have a manual, call the Hoover factory cust serv and give them the brand name and model # so that they can send you a new owner’s manual. Your local vacuum cleaner dealer should be able to do a diagnosis of the problem and can give you and est of the repair. Or if the vacuum is less than one year it should be covered under the Hoover factory warranty. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Loud Grinding Noise

Take out the brush block and see if it will power on, if not then probably your motor has gone bad.
