Hi had to reboot my pc and lost everything tryed to use cd to reinstall but it all mot finish but need a pass wprd i dont remember so it locked up alarm is on i bought this printer about 1 year ago at walmart

One cabel did not make a good conection replaced the cabel an it works great. also I need a great printer to print pictures in its best quitly what does cannon recamend of your products

it seems like you lost part of your windows. the easiest way if you cant get the cd to run is try to rapair off cd. if not, you need to reinstall. always back-up
You need to backup ASAP. I use a knoppix boot cd with an external hard drive to do this. Boot CD and copy as much as you need, if not everything from your hdd to your external. remember to look closely at drives since the will not have drive letter like dos. Once you've backed everything up, restore the OS. Most dells have a restore cd. if you dont have that, you have to use a regulaar windows cd to reinstall windows. the dell one is easier since you get all the drivers and extra software.next install good anti-virus and update definitions. then copy everything you need back from external hdd. remove extra startup stuff and enjoy the fast new system while it lasts.
Reboot, Insert the Operating System CD and Boot from CD, Try a repair on your Operating System. If that fails I am afraid its a reinstallation of your Operating System and all programes

Restart you system then while your system is rebooting Press Alt+F10
repeatedly this should bring you to the Acer recovery screen If this
doesn't occur try it again you may have missed the cue. When the
recovery screen appears select "restore to factory defaults". Before you
do this remember to back up all your important files. This will wipe
everything out except the factory installed programs so yes you will need to reinstall all your extra programs. A good idea is to back up all your documents, pictures, music etc to a CD/DVD or external hard drive before you start the recovery process.
Go to your device manager and delete your CD/DVD drive from the list, then reboot your PC. If the drive is functioning as normal then it will reinstall it's self upon reboot. Then try to see if it will read.
No problem. You need to enter The bios, And get the computer to start from The CD/DVD rom drive.
Put windows in the Drive, and you should be able to reboot from there with options to Format et,c.
