Question about Grilling

Jenn air 32 in. 4 burner gas grill

I put a replacement propane tank on and the burner lights for about 2 seconds then goes out. It does the same when I try a different propane tank. I got the grill this summer. Is it the regulator?

I have the same problem. I got a replacement tank from Lowe's, like I have many times before, but the grill will only stay lit for a couple of seconds and then goes out. Can only keep the side burner lit for a minute or two. Can not get the flame to come up higher.

If I light one burner it seems OK. When I light two they both seem to be at 25%. Light the third and all three go out. I too suspect the regulator since I have three tanks and two are kept full while the one in the grill is in use. My grill is less than a year old. I use the grill all year round and this problem only started recently.

My mom has Weber Baby Q. The flame is very low using a propane tank. Loves the grill, but how do we get the flame higher and hot? Replaced the hose, called the help number--no luck.

Sounds like a problem with the regulator. Try turning on the burners 1st before opening up the propane valve. If that doesn't work unscrew the gas line from the propane tank with the tank valve open a little (burners off) then screw it back on.

Lights but does not heat up beyond 250degrees

If this is a propane grill, try replacing the regulator and hose going to the tank. When a regulator is failing, it allows gas to pass, but not enough to allow the grill to heat up properly. If this is an older grill. You can also check each burner for blocked gas ports. Just a few blocked ports in a burner can prevent the burner from lighting completely, or from moving from one side of the burner to the other.

I have a jinnair model JA460N Gas Grill that currently runs on natural gas, I need to convert to propane. Is this possible and if so is there a conversion kit available?

Yes, I believe a kit is available. If you purchased this Jenn Air grill from Lowe's, it was manufactured by Nexgrill Industries. Not Jenn Air. In any event, Lowe's no longer sells the Jenn-Air line of grills. My very best advice is to contact Nexgrill Customer Service @ 800-913-8999. In addition to the burner orifice parts you'll have to have, you will also need a grill tank Hose/Regulator Assembly.

Hope this helps and Happy Grilling!

Grill will not light

If there is no gas check the tank, If the tank is fine look at the regulator. It has to be flat, because of a valve inside. This is a safety device incase of tipover.

Jenn Air grill burners only lite on one side

It could be a bad regulator but, highly unlikely . Check your air shutters at the end of the burner tubes and adust them properly. And if you have a OPD propane tank you maybe turning it on to quick causing the check valve inside the gas valve to open half way. Try opening the valve slowly.
