Hi the problem your having is either a software problem or you sound card is failing and needs repalcing but first try this
1 start
2 controll panel
3 hardware devices
4 let comp search for devices
5 scroll down list untill you see your sound card
6 select this
7if you have disk insert if not tell comp dont have disk
8 let comp search net for the correct software and install
if still no sound then you will find your sound card no good and will need replacing
Make sure volume turned up
Also if you right click on the speaker in bottom right hand corner then select speaker properties check all setting then this should solve your problem let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Try opening your control panel .click on systems, device manager
look at your sounds try updateing your drivers ..if you have on board sound/video(((((((( if you have a sound card try re-seating it -- also look in the control panel click on sounds or the speaker icon and make sure your volume is up and nothing is muted.. hope this helps

    sorry for late reply.

you may have installed some audio driver like soundmax

    http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/compani..." target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >RealTek
    http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/compani..." target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >SoundMAX
    http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/compani..." target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >Intel
    http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/compani..." target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >Creative Labs
or something else.. many cases this settings are avilable for changing on system tray itself. else you can find it on your programs list also.

ok once you find it see if any cross mark is over the icon then its sure that your driver is disabled.
even if no cross mark is there open it and see for audio configurations. change the audio configurations and click apply and then click OK.
    now play the audio.

ur system has inbuilt sound card or extra sound card attached in the board??

  • dewan nafees ahmed Jan 21, 2008

yes.. pauldonp was right.. you must not have rated me fixya... i mean you must not have accepted my solution. you must have waited for everyone to answer and then rate the one who answers it right..

ok look at the driver software carefully..

you may have got some driver software with your system.. it may be some software like sound max or realtec or something like that..

now look at it carefully.. if its not showing any chance to enable it put your mother board disc in system and reinstall your audio driver..

I ahve MSI u210 light, i want to know why is now takes long during booting... i ahve already formatted it but still the same.

Here are a few non-hardware-specific suggestions that have worked for me, not in any certain order, but I'd update the BIOS and try the first suggestion:

Unplug all of your peripherals, everything on the board (except HDD and RAM of course), and see if it boots faster. Only leave one stick of RAM in (primary slot), replace it with another stick each boot. If boots faster, replace everything one at a time, booting after each, until you find the problem device.

Try another HDD, make sure it's on the right SATA channel in the BIOS. Or even better, boot from a USB stick with DSL, Puppy Linux or Ubuntu (or whatever flavor you like). Watch the terminal on boot, see if it hangs on a certain device -this works in safe mode too.

Check your BIOS, make sure everything is legit, if it has a "fast boot" select it. May as well update the BIOS too, that may fix everything. You've probably done that though.

Poke it with a stick.

I have an acer extensa 4230 which I reformated.I installed the audio, vga and rebooted the system. It rebooted fine. But upon installing a bios system driver,it requested for a reboot. After the system short...

It sounds as though the wrong BIOS has been installed or when downloading the correct BIOS there was a problem with the file and it is corrupt.
Apart from removing the BIOS chip and fitting a programmed one, there is not a lot else you can do except speak to Acer and see if they can help.
Regards.

No boot up

Try removing all memory except one board. If it does not come up switch boards. Still no luck, check power supply if you can or switch it with another. A power supply checker is pretty cheap, 10 to 15 dollars, and well worth the investment, although it is not foolproof. Try switching PS off, physically remove the BIOS backup battery, then replace it and try again. That should have cleared the BIOS back to factory defaults. It sounds like a memory problem, but as a last resort, you might reseat the CPU. The CPU fan runs, yes? Can you get some other memory to try? Well good luck!

Lenovo fails to launch Windows, smbios failure

Hi,
sounds like you may have a corrupt Bios.
Locate the manufacturers site, via another computer.
And see if they have a bios update to download.
*****Be careful, An unsuccesful bios Flash may render Your Computer Useless*** If you can enter bios at startup, find the page which allows you to restore setup defaults, save and exit to cmos.

Just purchased this motherboard, can't get bios to boot

just be sure...
take out everything, except the the power cable and the little speaker. try to turn it on. there will beep sounds. if not, the problem is the board. if there's sound, check connections.

also tell me the model of it, if possible.
after turning it on, check the power and hd leds, if they are on, or blinking.

check if hd and dvd are both jumpered as master. try removing both, just to try to get the bios working.

and one last thing, check it there's a intrusion jumper on board, if yes turn it off.
