Try to insert a straighten paper pin into the hole under the tray if still no go You have to open the cover and take the cd out.

But.. sounds like the CD open button is stuck in.
The button on the case is a springy plastic lever extended to reach the button on the drive itself, inside the case.

If you plan on opening it (the case), you will need a special tool to avoid damage to the case, and you will void the warrenty.

Without a cd in it, try tapping the case on sides with finger tips or knuckles, and on the front of case next to button. Hopefully to allow button to pop out to normal position.

Okay, the Xbox 360 isn't reverse compatable, meaning you can't play regular xbox 360 games on it. The only version that is reverse compatable is the Xbox 360 Elite. SOrry :(

In this case the first thing you need to make sure is the game is supported on the Xbox 360. If the game came in a actual XBOX 360 game box then you should be OK there. If not you need to check the list at this link.

Next if it is then you will need to get the update off the XBOX 360 website, then save it to you computer. After you do this you can save it to a USB drive or burn it to a disk to get the update on your XBOX 360. After this you will be able to play your game.

Note another option is that you can buy a 1 month game card to XBOX Live to allow you to download the updates you need.

XBOX 360 games have security codes embedded within. The motor is going out or likely filled with dust and debris that will not allow it to spin the game fast enough for the XBOX to recognize the security codes therefore telling you ''Please insert the disc into an Xbox 360 console''. Keep in mind, these DVD drives are nthing more than that. I am sure you can order a new motor online for a few dollars.

ALL YOU NEED IS THE MOTOR (found on ebay, etc.) and the DVD drive will tell you the brand name right on the top of it once you have opened the console.

Go to the Xbox360 System area and run the Network Test and see how it goes. A Strict NAT setting will allow you to play online but will affect the connectivity somewhat. In my case I had to log on to my Router and Allow certain ports access. My router had Xbox Live as an option to open, yours might too, have a look.

That happens when the case to your DVD (the top portion of your case) becomes warped. Believe it or not your Xbox generates alot of heat; enough to warp metal. Open up you 360 and push down firmly on the center of the drive case this should work. But be careful to much pressure and the case and the drive door will not open.

take the xbox apart as much as you can then open up the xbox this will void your warrenty if you still have one then then undo the screws that allow to take the top case off and check the wire hasnt come loose or been burn in anyway if so replace it with another fan unit thyen put the consloe back together
