A lot of watch manufacturers use the American style date layout of Month/Day/Year. Try this. Looking at the watch press and hold the bottom right SIDE button for 3 seconds. It should enter setting mode where the seconds display will flash. Press the Right FACE button once. It should switch to the Hour display flashing. Press the same button again to go to minutes and them again to go to the date display.
Repeated pressing of the top Right SIDE button changes the numbers upwards, (1,2,3,4), and the Left FACE button changes the numbers downwards, (4,3,2,1). Press the Bottom right SIDE button once to finish and go back to the normal display.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. See page 1 of the manual for instructions which basically read as follows:
1. In TIME mode, press and hold SET/RECALL. Time zone will flash. 2. To set, push + or - to select first or second time zone. 3. Press NEXT. Hour digits flash. 4. Press + or - to change hour including AM/PM. (Scroll through 12 hours to get to AM/PM). 5. Press NEXT. Minute digits flash. 6. Press + or - to change minutes. 7. Press NEXT. Second digits flash. 8. Press + or - to set seconds to zero. 9. Press NEXT. Day of week flashes. 10. Press + to - to change day. 11. Continue pattern to set month, day of month, 12-hour or 24-hour time display, MM.DD or DD.MM date format, turn hourly CHIME on/off, turn BEEP on/off. If you select BEEP on, a beep will sound every time you push a button (except INDIGLO). 12. Press DONE to confirm and exit or NEXT to continue and set second time zone, if desired.
I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.
If you choose to rate this solution using the Thumbs Up scale provided, I thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sound like something is jamming the button. I would try to call timex or if you have a trust worthy watchmaker locally, would be the easiest route.
I am sending their link to their site also;
For Temperature calibration: 1. Pull the crown to most extended position (2 notches) 2. Temp hand moves to a default position 3. Move hand in + or - direction by pressing temp or tide buttons (above and below crown button) 4. When done, push crown to 0 position (I used melting ice water to calibrate and fix to 0 deg C)
For Tide calibration: 1. Pull crown to middle position (1 notch) 2. Move hand in + or - direction by pressing temp or tide buttons (above and below crown button) 3. When done, push crown to 0 position
Above link no longer valid. Here's the current one:

Also, the key was inputting the correct #, in this case 3157 - NOT the
100B - at the following page:

I had almost given up when I looked again at the back of my watch and
found the other number.
Here's the inside of my Timex Expedition Dive watch. To reset the watch after replacing the battery, press down with a small screw driver on the metal tab that the red arrow is pointing to.
