Buttons and Trackball not working.

I woke up this morning to find that my sidekick is not working. When you use the trackball or the d-pad, the selection screen doesnt move. The jumpkeys still work, but I cannot move the selector or hit enter to access them. Any ideas?

No, nothing happened to it last night. I used it before I went to sleep and today it started acting up. I tried shutting it off and turning it back on again, nothing. Then I tried a hard reset and that didn't work either. The phone worked fine for about 20 seconds and then resumed being retarded.

My trackball on my sidekick 08 won't scroll up at all. It easily scrolls up, right, and left. I have not spilt anything on it before. &this has happened to me a few times but those other times it wasn't scrolling down, and then it would work again. But it's been like this for now two days. I've tried cleaning the ball with alcohol &blowing on it. What else can I do?

YOu need to clean your trackball.

1: Take a deep breath and blow on the trackball area, rotate and do it again. This may blow any particles block the sensors.
2: This requires a Q-tip and some alcohol. Turn off your sidekick, wet the end of the q-tip, and gently clean the trackball while rotating. Be careful not to get the alcohol on anything but the trackball. Let dry for a minute and try it out. If this doesn’t work then try again.

Sidekick trackball won't work =[

More than likely, the trackball on your Sidekick is really dirty. Overtime, dirt and grime gets in between the ball and the sensors.

It is really easy to clean it, you will need q-tips and IPA alcohol. No dis assembly is usually needed!

Sidekick Display Issues!

The trackball will blink green when the sidekick is in sleep mode, to let you know that it is still on just saving battery. I personally think it gets pretty annoying after awhile.. Also if it blinks blue while in sleep mode it means you have a new text, email, alert, etc. The only time the trackball doesnt blink green is when you are using it. Hope this helped!

Sidekick 3 problems

Antonio-

You may be able to fix many of those things yourself. The trackball proabaly just needs to be clean. Does the LCD have a white screen when it is on? The Camera, well that may take some work.

For the white screen check out here: http://www.repairmysidekick.org/Fix-Sidekick-White-LCD-Screen

If it is not white, a new lcd can be had for 45 dollars on ebay.
they are easy to replace.

replacement of the Sidekick 3 LCD flip screen.

To clean your track ball, follow these instructions:

1: Take a deep breath and blow on the trackball area, rotate and do it again. This may blow any particles block the sensors.
2: This requires a Q-tip and some alcohol. Turn off your sidekick, wet the end of the q-tip, and gently clean the trackball while rotating. Be careful not to get the alcohol on anything but the trackball. Let dry for a minute and try it out. If this doesn’t work then try again.

The keys may have gotten dirty. So when you push one, it also activates ones near by.

These tips apply to the trackball but you can also use them for the keyboard.
