Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection(ieee 1394) in order to
download video to your PC if your computer (PC) did not come with a firewire port, so
you will have to buy one and install it, & if your camcorder did
not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too.
Your
camcorder has only a USB cord and that is used for downloading
stills from your camcorder, when capturing video just make sure your camera is in playback mode.

download the usb driver "usbdriven.exe" and then download a program like movavi video suite or ulead video studio (movavi is better), thats all you need to download videos to your pc, hope it helps!
Download free application WINDV (Small Windows utility for DV FireWire digital video input/output ). buy and connect a firewire cable between camcorder (DV output ) and a firewire input in your pc, if you not hasn't got one, buy it. you can buy a card with this kind of inputs. Connect and run application, play camcorder, and record to your pc, your video.
