Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W170 Digital Camera

1 Answer

A recycler virus is on my Sony Cyber-shot memory stick. When I plugged it into my laptop, AVG notified me of the viruses and asked me if I wanted the viruses deleted or healed. I had them deleted. The folders were then deleted, but now I cannot access the pictures that are still on the memory stick. The pictures are still there, because I can view them on my camera. How do I get my pictures off?

Does the same thing can happen if you use the camera without the memory card in? If so, it means you have to do virus scan of your camera's hard memory. and then to see if it get better. Then to decided if you have to update the software.
Else, there is still some thing wrong with the card, and you need some special software to remove the virus

It's highly unlikely a virus is on your camera. Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures. typrice_45.jpg

My cam has a virus and i want to delete it

Your camera cannot get any virus. Your SD card / memory card might. Here are possible solutions to your problem:

1. Run malwarebytes antispyware on your SD Card / memory card.

2. Run AVG or Nod32 to eliminate any virus on your card.

3. Or, consider reformatting your memory card. Go to Menu - Settings - Memory.

NOTE: If you want to reformat your memory card, make sure that you have back up files or copy of the files inside your memory card.

Your problem is solved! Thanks.

Sony cyber-shot dsc-w55 memory stick problem. Once i erase the pics through the comp. the memory stick still shows that is full. I have a SanDisk 2.0GB memory stick ProDuo. What can i do?

You need to check again how you are erasing with the PC.Try opening the the memory stick folder on your pc, and deleting some shots one by one.You should be asked each time to confirm you want to delete. You can then check if they have actually been deleted by looking in your recycle bin.
I don't ever clear the memory stick of my cybershot outside of the camera. After download, I delete with the camera. That way I know my card will stay properly formatted for my camera.
