Question about Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for PC
While installing the software and being asked to plug in the usb connection then pressing the on button, the hid could not be found and the device does nothing.I checked for hardware connection, the apparat was connected.
Reading many forums with this same problem leads me to beleive there is a software problem.
I'm using Vista and i have more than the standard requirements for this to run. Fisher price have no technical support for this problem, do you?
First check Device manager to see if their are any devices that are not working (or need a device driver). These will have an exclamation mark next to them. Reinstall the driver....if you don't have it point (you will understand this more as you follow the proc)
it at Microsoft.
Next try it again. If it still does not work then go to control panel and select add/remove hardware. Do the search and see if it is found. If so follow the instructions. If not point it at your cd (and maybe the folder titled drivers) - note try your application CD first and the Vista dvd second.
If this fails then we need to do some cleanup. Here is that drill....the why is explained at the end.
Step one...Uninstall the application using the windows add/remove programs and then remove any folders (but not your data) remaining that relate to it under program files in windows explorer.
Step two....Download and run Ccleaner (free) and run the registry portion (run other items at your leisure).
Step three...Do a scandisk in thorough mode or if not available (I reverted to XP so I forget if they left that in Vista or not) run disk defragmentor which will do it in the background.
Step four...If it still will not install and run, with the exception of doing something fancy in regedit, you have either software that is not going to work with vista...a design problem or you have some level of corruption in vista.
Given your issue is a bit old I won't go into these. Let me know if still not resovled. Tango....hope this helps.
