Replacement Chord I have a pair of these headphones & the chord is starting to go bad. Can & where can I purchase just the chord?

What Cord?

Your asking about plugging it into the homes
electrical outlet ?

Can't use just any cord,not a two prong lamp cord
type extension,no

You use a three prong grounded extension wire

Does it not have several feet of wire on it & a three
prong plug?

You use a standard outdoor extension, like you
would for a vacuum cleaner outside

If you use it a lot, buy a short 6 foot one,just to
use with it

the cable needs remaking as it brakes after excessive movement at the very end, good look

by dangling ipod while connected or pulling out by cord you broke wiring you can look up an electronics place in your area for repair but repair might be more than a replacement

It depends on the output of the device. Is it the green chord that is stuck into a headphone jack? Since its 5.1 I doubt that. Its most likely an optical output, or a vga chord. In any case you should be able to match the chord you need to the back of your computer. Any more details will help.

Just went through this pain today. Here's how I did it. Use allen wrench with T handle to remove the shroud over the carb controls and plug. Then remove about 10 screws and split the case. Use tool that comes with the unit to remove the nut holding the impeller. Behind the impeller, use torx head to get the other bolts to remove the motor. There are two other screws on the other side that hold the motor on. Drop the motor from the case carefully. It is still attached by wires to the throttle and kill switch. Note how the throttle linkage is connected because it will come apart for sure. On the one side of the housing you are looking at the plastic cord spool with the spring unit behind it. My chord simply pulled out of the spool. It was held on with a 10mm nut and start washer (not a good design). If the chord broke, remove the remnant from the take up spool. To rewind the new chord or replace the one that pulled free, you need to wind the spring to put tension on it. Make sure the take up spool engages with the spring tang otherwise it will turn free and not tense the sprint. Once engaged with the tang, the spool should set to the bottom to be level with the metal chord guide. Turn the spool clockwise 3-4 turns until you feel it tighten. With a 2nd pair of hands, hold the tension on the spool and tread in your chord. Route the chord through the take up reel into the hole on the side. Loosen the 10mm nut with the star washer and route the end of the chord through it. Tie a simple knot in the end to prevent it from pulling through. Tighten the 10mm nut which clamps on the chord. Now, slowly, let the spring tension take up the loose chord until fully retracted. Make sure the metal chord guide fits in the slot to channel the chord properly into the take up reel. Hold the spool down and give the chord a gentle test or two. The chord should retract easily and fully. Simple as pie!!! Reverse the disassembly and you are back in business.

I have had this problem several times. It can be due to a number of things
Firstly, try the MP3 player with a different set of headphones, if both ears work, then the headphones are the problem. Check the adaptor and/or cabling for any damage or defects. If the internal cabling is damaged, you will need to go and buy a new pair.
If the problem is the player itself, try checking the headphone port for dust or any other artefacts blocking the way. This can cause he connection to fail and therefore lose sound.
On a side note, if you love listening to music, i would suggest a high quality set of headphones. Sennheiser (my personal favourites) and Shure are both a VERY good brand to go for. You do pay a bit more, but sound quality and build quality are faultless.

You just buy one power chord which has made up with high quality meterials. That is all. The chord must be capable of handling enough current concumed by your product. A normal type power chord will meet your need. Take a power chord which has plughin compactability of your household plug point. OK.

Buy the Caig Labs De-Oxit kit and clean up/treat the XLR connections on the mic itself.

i know that these are very exspencive headphones, they were 100 dollars, and they are great. unfortunitally, these cannot be fixed without getting new headphones, sorry!!!
