Re: Online problem

Turn off you router and wait about 5 minutes,
then switch it back on and let it config. Then try and connect to the internet with your ps3.

Need to know where the aoss button is located to play ps3 online

The aoss button would be on your modem/router if there is one. You need to do a wireless setup from network settings on you PS3 do a manual setup instead of easy. Select search for connections and then select your wireless name from the list. Put in your pass phrase and then after that press right on the D-pad until the screen doesn't go right any further and then TEST THE CONNECTION.
If you have done evrything right you should be online. Good Luck!

Have problem going online, after inputting all info the first time it logged on fine and a atomatice update took place. But after that, the next time i switched on and the ps3 try to log online , a error...

Once you have all the wireless settings of the router, you are ready to connect the play station or the x-box to the wireless network.

Play Station

Now go to the settings page of the PLAY STATION

If you get confirmation screen displayed stating that you will be disconnected from the Internet. click YES ==>
select EASY ==>
select WIRELESS ==>
SCAN ==>
you will see your SSID ( wireless network name)==>
select the security settings ( router wireless settings)==>
enter the KEY ==>
select the IP address settings EASY ==>
save your settings ==>
Test the connection .

I'm in the middle of online-play and suddenly get signed off of the PS Network. So far it has only happened with Red Dead Redemption but I don't really play other games online.

Please check your connection to the Internet from your PS3. Many times, when a lot users are playing the same online games, they will be turned away, lose connectivity, or not be able to log in. Again the main reason for this is there is A lot OF ONLINE TRAFFIC to that same site. Many times, a paying member may receive a dedicated connection to the online game site so that they do not experience getting booted off the network. Last, ensure to check your internet connection at home by removing power from the router, and restarting both your pc systems as well as your PS3. Once you do this, you will reset the system in order to REQUEST A NEW IP ADDRESS for your internet service provider. I can bet my last dollar that your going to experience a much better game play time. Come back to me for more free advice if your still have an issue.

The connection to the playstation network fails

sounds like a problem with the wireless network card.

Go thru these instructions to get your ps3 to recognize your wireless router, if it doesn't work then you know that your wireless network card in the ps3 is bad:

Ps3 wont connect to wireless

Reset your router, then give your PS3 a static IP address and go into your router interface, find the DMZ feature and put in the IP address that you gave the PS3, just make sure the IP you give it is within the DHCP pool of IP addresses.

The PS3 will now be sat outside the routers firewall giving you FULL access to internet content and gaming online.

Now test connection settings and you will notice you will now have an open connection to the internet.

Ps3 friends list

All of a sudden I had the same problem occur on my PS3 last night.

It took me hours of connecting, and reconnecting to the network to figure it out.......then I realised !!!

I had a comment on PSN ID. I deleted the comment, and then it all sorted itself out, literly within 5 seconds it all came back to life.

If you have a comment, try to delete it, and let me know how you get on.

PS3 wireless internet problems

It sounds like a defective wireless antenna. Connect your PS3 via a long network cable and see if you can get online. If you can, the problem is a defective antenna.

Assuming you purchased the PS3 from a store and have the reciept, you should be able to get it swapped or fixed via warranty.

Good luck and take care,

My ps3 will not connect to my wireless internet

Try setting a static ip address on the PS3:-

First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings

Windows XP
1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath
3. Click Support
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Windows Vista
1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center
2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Set these values under "manual settings" in the PS3 but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network

Ps3 online

ps3 has a built in wireless adapter.rather than having wires all over, get a wireless router.connect the router to your modem with an ethernet.once you have the wireless router up and running,you will have whats called an "access point" for any devices to connect to wirelessly (within a reasonable distance),such as the ps3.
