Playing discs on Samsung HTX200R (by 2 users)

I have recently bought the above home cinema system, and it was sold to me as multi-regional.
I have had it a few weeks and have had no problems playing various CD's and DVD's.
However, a few days ago, I went to play DVD, some of which I had already viewed on it only a few days before, and now it comes up with a message saying 'error - check region code'. This is a legitimate rental DVD from Amazon.
Since this, I have tried a few DVD's, some work, some come up with this message. These are not copy or pirate DVD's.

Is there a general problem/fault with the system as the problem seems intermittent, or is there just something I can change on one of the menus to fix this?
Please hlep - the manual does not cover this.
