Slow Windows Launch

Many causes for slow boot up or response is from malware and viruii.

Download and install Malwarebytes (Free version) from: You can allow the free 30 day Pro mode if you like (this program is ~$20 for a lifetime license and is highly recommended!).

Let it update the malware database. Then select "Quick Scan" and let it run. Depending on size of your HD, it may take up to 10 or more minutes to complete. You should delete everything it finds - except for cookies (if you want) and anything you recognize as "safe".

Check your antivirus software. Is it running? Is it up to date? If not, start it & update as needed. Have it perform a memory scan / quick scan / etc. and delete its findings too.

Reboot. If still slow, you might want to do a Safe Boot or boot from a Start Up disk and re-run those tests - possible selecting FULL scans instead.

Good luck!

Computer CPU/Processor maxed 100%

Is your computer experiencing a CPU that is running at 100% Is your computer experiencing slow performance?

You can view your CPU utilization and other performance stats using Windows Task Manager. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and bring up Task Manager. Go to the performance tab.

The top of this screen should show your CPU stats.

In Linux you can use the TOP command,
Type the top command:
$ top

A CPU that is running at 100% utilization is not necessarily a problem. When the computer is booting up, or coming out of sleep mode, it may max out the CPU which is normal. The CPU will be utilized fully in order to bring the computer up as fast as possible. Some computers will even utilize the CPU while it is idle, to complete background task such as disk cleanup and file reallocation.

A problem will occur if the CPU stays maxed out. If it stays at 100% for more than a couple of minutes, you may be experiencing degraded computer performance.

Steps to reduce performance degradation.

-In a limited number of cases, software bugs can cause CPU utilization to spike. You will know this is the case if you are using a computer program(that is not hardware intensive like photo/video editors) and notice degraded computer performance. Check your CPU stats while running the program. If this is the case, check online for solutions and possible upgrades which resolve bugs in the software.

-You can reduce Windows start up programs, which will speed up the boot/wakeup process. You can do this from the MSCONFIG window. Go to Start > and in the run box type "msconfig". Go to the "startup" tab and you can uncheck which programs you do not want to start with Windows.

-A majority of the time a computer will get to a point were the hardware will need to be upgraded in order to handle the work you are doing. Common computer upgrades are memory, cpu, motherboard and hard drive.

My pc speed is too slow. sometime it hag very much .please i request you to give mesome solution

Slow Windows Machine! Sounds like not enough resources such as RAM and CPU. Check Performance in Task-Manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE). Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

Open Task Manager and look in there for the program that grabs most memory and CPU, uninstall it and try again. Do that till it runs smoothly.

When i log on it will not boot up but just keeps tellking me windows failed to start. i try and launch start up repair as recommended but nothing happens.

Did you try to open task manager and end explorer.exe process, and run it again, if it doesn't work, that means your windows didn't installed correctly. Try reinstalling it.

Slow startup, slow responce.

Well this is an obvious fix but replace your HDD with a 7200 rpm SATA HDD from
It should be a fairly cheap upgrade depending on how much storage you need.

You should see a significant improvement. I be willing to bet your HDD is a slow 5200 rpm and slow seek time.

Remember, the slowest parts of your computer is your HDD and CDROM
