With the blower turned on, try tapping the blower motor with something hard. If it restarts, then this is a failing motor. If it doesn't start, then check power to the motor. If it has power, then the motor has failed completely.
I've got the same problem, there is no voltage at the 'heat' terminal on the control board when calling for heat, or at the 'cool' terminal when in AC mode. If I power up the blower from a separate 120V source it runs fine, so I suspect it's a bad relay on the board.
E-3. Check your indoor blower motor mechanism locked or no power or poor power to blower motor. Check power to motor. If so, rotate manually. If hard, replace bearings or motor. If no power to blowe motor, replace/repair PCB. Thanks.
E-3 Indoor unit blower motor mechanism. Rotate blower motor manually. If rotate, check power to motor. If power is there, replace only fan-capacitor. If hard to rotate, replace bearings or motor itself. If no power to motor, defective in PCB. Repair/replace PCB. Thanks and hope it's helpful.
If it has not run for awhile, check the brushes. they might need to be replaced. The plug is usually moulded right on power cord. That might have to be replaced because if there is a problem with a broken or disconnected wire right at plug there is no way to see it. Hope this helps.
for blower motor check fuse hvac 20a int.panel and hvac 30a fuse in elect.center eng.compartment,if ok,check for 12v at blower connector if power is there fan is defect..temp.gauge check connection at unit if ok check resitance if it varies when engine warms up,if it doesnt vary replace unit,if it varies check wiring circuit, unit is place at drivers side of eng.block near sprk plugs.for hard to start;if check eng.light is not on could be in need of a tune-up depending on how long ago it was done,if check eng light is on or was on scan ecm for trouble code.
if the resistor you refer to is the capacitor, yes it dies require the capacitor and no it cannot be bypassed. I fyou have power to the blower and it does not start you need to replace the motor.. hope this helps
