Question about HTC Touch P3450 Smartphone
I can't activate my GPS on HTC touch pad
I tried many ways and found with smartgps and the cid gps chip which apparently is for 911 locating.... what happens with Smart GPS is it will log in the background longittude and lat with DAte and Time stamp a text version line by line log which you can find some where in your files at a later time.
I came across this log file myself after I had removed SmartGPS but there was this long file of date/time/Longittude/Lat,,,line by line TEXT !

There is an Windows Mobile update Available for most phone provider. (Windows mobile 6.1) This will let you use the GPS receiver in you phone.
You can find this update at http://www.htc.com
if not check with your phone service provider

Supposedly the touch comes with a built in gps receiver just like the tytn2, however it needs to be activated as the australian version has it switched off (probably for marketing reasons). it is tricky to turn it on but it can be done, check out the xda developers forum for threads on how to do this. I think you need to install a new radio rom and new firmware, good luck!!

GPS is present but not enabled on these phones when they come from the store. In order to activate the GPS it depends on your cell provider. Currently sprint has a update that will give you windows mobile 6.1 and GPS, but Verizon does not have a official update for their phones yet.
