Broken internal power connection on gateway p-631-hsn

I recently repaired one of those with a radioshack plug and socket. If it got bumped somehow, it most likely broke the socket inside. You have to follow all the screw which are marked in length by milimeter. First is getting off the trim around the keyboard which snaps on. This is hard to get apart without breaking. Once you get that, the keyboard should have 2 screws and screws do release everything else, piece by piece. I think I have some pics of the one I did, if I can find them it may help you.

Intermittent fault (poor connection) on 4.8mm 18.5volts power socket on hp presario a900

It sounds like you just need to replace the laptop's power cord/charger because it's not making a good connection any more.

DELL E1705 model. When connecting AC adapter, even before pressing power button, led in power adapter goes off immediately. Why ? The power adapter is OK. When connected with Battery, no switch-on.

Since the system is not working ion both battery and the adaptor it could be a faulty motherboard.. Call dell @18006249896 if you are in warranty.. Contact local tech if thr\e system is out of warranty....

Gateway m-6834 battery light blinking red and won't turn on

A) Bad battery

Easy to check, take it out and try to boot. If yes. Get a new battery.

If no.

B) Bad AC adapter

Does the power brick have an LED on it? Is it on. Even if it is it may not be putting out voltage. If the cord gets bent alot it can break inside so it looks normal. If you or some you know has a MultiMeter , have them check the voltage. If you know someone with the same laptop, try theirs. If it works get a new one.

C) Broken connector inside laptop
If a known working AC adapter doesnt work there could be a broken connector inside that needs to be resoldered or the power subsystem on the board could be fried.

Dv1000 power problem

This is a common problem we faced especially for home users. The problem is really simple: The power adapter socket on your laptop's motherboard is broken. Assuming that the system board is not broken or cracked, this broken socket can be easily replaced. And it only costs $2!

Unfortunately, it is common policy for service centers nowadays to replace the board for this type of problem, thats why they are charging $398, which is actually a good price.

If you have any basic electronic background, then you can replace it yourself. The main hurdle you will face is in finding the exact dc socket and disassembly and assembly of your notebook. Just remove and replace the defective socket from the mainboard. Otherwise you can put external connector on it. It might not look good, but you do have a working laptop now.

Amilo pro v7010 laptop wont switch on

If so, unplug it from the wall charger, remove the battery and wait 5 minutes. Then plug the unit back in, leaving the battery out. Attempt to power up. You may lose what work you hadn't saved from the previous use, but nothing else.
If that doesn't work, it's possible that
A) power socket isn't completely connected to the motherboard anymore, so
B) battery isn't charging properly, or
C) the wall charger has gone bad.
I'd say you're in hibernation tho.
Good luck
