Re: Flash drive

Yeah, hey Try going to My Computer, and right click. Now go to properties, then Hardware & follow that with DEVICE MANAGER. Now go down and click on USB controllers, is your Flash drive there? If so right click on it and go to properties and ENABLE the device. Hopefully this will help you, get back to me if it doesn't work.

My kingston 2 gb flash disk is not recognized, how can i fix it?

Please follow the below steps to fix your problem

Connect your flash drive to your computer using an available USB port. If your flash drive is not recognized, you'll usually receive an error that says "USB Device Not Recognized."

Click "Start" > "Control Panel" and open the system configuration by double-clicking the "System" icon.

Navigate to the "Hardware" tab and click the "Device Manager" button to open the Device Manager.

Click the "+" next to "Disk Drives" and locate your USB flash drive. A question mark icon should be shown to the left of the label. Right-click the device name and select "Uninstall."

Open the "Action" menu at the top of the Device Manager and select "Scan for hardware changes." This will scan your PC for any new devices. Because you uninstalled the flash drive, it will be detected as a new device and the drivers will be reinstalled.

Click "Start" > "My Computer" and look for your flash drive. If this process was successful, your flash drive should now show up under My Computer as a storage disk.

Hope the above information will be helpful to you.

Why my flash usb is don't tell me the files

try plugging your flash drive into a usb port then going into my computer and opening the appropriate drive letter for the flash drive.

You can also put a shortcut to the flash drive on your desktop and simply open it to see what is actually on your flash drive.

You can also use windows explorer and open up your flash drive icon and see a listing of what is on it.

Your problem may be that the flash drive has its own installation program and it has possibly been wiped or cleared accidently.

I just bought my first Cruzer 4gb. Flash drive. I'd like to put mail from Outlook Express from two different computers on this drive. Then, I'd like to be able to carry the drive back and forth between...

It is possible but your choice of drive would not be mine as they are prone to failure.

It is pretty simple to create a folder on a flash drive, lets say called "mail"

Then you could tell outlook express to change the "STORE FOLDER"

this is done by going to the tools, options menu and selecting maintenance then the store folder button This will tell you where your mail is currently stored.

At this point I would exit outlook express and go to the stroe location and copy (NOT CUT & PASTE) the contents to the folder you created on your flash drive.

I would then open outlook express and go back to the store folder button and this time click "change"

Now you can point it to the flash drive and folder you created.

It will ask if you are sure and if you click yes it will then tell you to restart outlook express or that the changes will not take effect until you restart.

I would do a full system shut down restart to be sure but it is not always needed.

You can then check that is is indeed using the new folder by opening up outlook express and checking your mail if you get mail then double check it is still set to the flash drive.

You can then repeat the process on the other computer and check again.

As a final check take it home and try again and if all is good you have done what you want.

It may also be prudent to export your address book and email accounts to the flash drive too.

Please do make a backup of the flash drive.

I use a similar method to keep all my email in case of a computer crash that besides a proper backup system to my server so that my *** is fully covered.

SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro USB I/O device error

I would recommend plugging your Cruzer into another computer. It's possible that your computer has corrupted or incorrect drivers for the flash drive. This is one cause of the yellow alert in Device Manager. If you move the flash drive to another machine and it works, you can save your data and make a backup copy. If your Cruzer doesn't work in a different computer (I would try at least 2 other working computers), it's possible that the flash drive is faulty.

My cruzer micro flash drive will not open

Have you tried opening up your files on another PC? Have you tried inserting it into a different USB drive in your PC? If so, and neither is fixing the problem, there is software you can get (I think about $20) that will help you retreive your files if they are crucial.
