Color adjustment issues.

I am having trouble with the color adjustments. I put in a new lamp and the color is off, I cant seem to adjust it to the right look.

    First it started out with a reddish to sepia tone depending on what the background was. No amount of adjustment from the remote got rid of it. Now it won't come on al all The front panel lights flash in sequence then it goes off when you press the on button.

    We have the same problem. WE replaced the lamp but we still can not adjust the color. When watching, golf, we have color up close but the grass is not green. The white is not white but on the reddish side .

You have the infamous "red cloud" as they call it and no matter what you personally do to the TV, it will not resolve the problem. The problem is you have a defective light engine and Hitachi is aware of the problem. We started noticing the red cloud in the middle of our TV (we have the 60v500) about 2 months ago and it got worse. After LOTS of online research, we were convinced it was the light engine. When we called Hitachi, they claimed to know nothing about it but THEY DO! They did give us the names of two certified Hitachi dealers in our area and when the tech came out, he could tell within one minute that we had a bad light engine.

I then called Hitachi back and told them that the tech confirmed that we had a bad light engine and all of a sudden, they knew about the problem...imagine that! They told us that they would call the dealer we used and confirm this with them. They did call the dealer and within 2 days, the dealer had a brand new light engine, sent to themby Hitachi, and they came out and installed it...TV is like brand new.

Here's the kicker...there's always a kicker. If your TV is not still under warranty (ours is 3+ years old so ours is not) Hitachi will cover the part...around $1500 but they ask you to cover the install by the dealer. Our install was $400 and they did the install in our home...they did not have to take the TV into their shop. We felt like paying $400 for a $3600 TV (price we paid when we bought it) was worth it!

One last thing, deal only with the Hitachi Customer Relations Department...NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their regular customer service folks will have you chasing your to speak. The Customer Relations Number is 800-654-7013. If you're TV is not under warranty and you're willing to spring for the install, it's well worth it. Don't let any dealer tell you that you will have to buy this $1500 part. Hitachi will send it directly to them and you should only pay for the install. Good Luck!

ok,,your problem is not on the lamp itself.,the problem is on your screen controller.the controller is connected on the plyback you can adjust the screen intensity of the red,green,blue cathode..on your screen adjustment.

I have a samsung 545r 1080i monitor the color is off a little and it seems it has double letters when i bring up the menue screen and same goes when watching a show is it worth getting it fix or buy a new...

it need to be adjusted ,the converge is off track.there usually is a settings in the menu directy.should be a easy fix.if you cant have a service tech come and adjust it.the colors should come back when its adjusted.I think it savable

No sound and sound menu stays muted so cant adjust

Have you totally unplugged the TV?
If not do so for 10 minutes and see if it resets.
Try to find a remote that goes with TV>
P.s. Make sure you do not have the saftey lock on. You can adjust the control;s from built in adjustments.

How do you adjust the lamps on a 46 projection hitachi , i cant seem to adjust the red lamp ,have a more of a green tint

there are no lamps in this set, you have picture tubes, if the tubes don't line up, you need new convergence chips, this is the most common failure in all rear projection tv's, you might also have burnt open resistors next to the convergence chips. if you don't have good soldering skills then you must have a repairman fix this.

Samsung Rear Projection Problem (not convergence)

The tv has 2 focus adjustments for each tube, mechanical and electrical.

1. Mechanical focus is set by looking at screen from back (through inspection plate on back of most samsungs) and rotating the lens assembly on CRT. loosen wing nut and turn lens assembly to go through focus and back to best position.

Put convergence pattern on screen and manually misadjust bottom red and green lines convergence so they can be seen through inspection hole.

With back cover of TV off you can usually reach your hand up beside the lens assembly to loosen the wing nut then rotate to adjust. Green is in the middle. The focus will be obvious when you rotate and look

When you are finished make sure the foam dust protector is not over any of the lens assemblies and the wing nut is tight.

2. Electrical focus - located at front of unit. the front grille/speaker cover is removed and maybe a cover over the front crt inspection hole.

In the inspection hole there is a black plastic "Focus/screen adjust Assembly" with 2 rows of 3 controls.

One row is focus and the other is screen. The middle controls are for green with R/B on either side. Usually the controls are labelled as "focus" and "screen". You want to adjust the focus controls, one for each color. Look for the focus or screen label imprinted in the plastic. Don't play with the screen settings.

With the same misadjusted convergence pattern you can see a red, blue and green line. Adjust green focus and watch green line for best focus. Do same for other 2.

Screen adjustments are very exact and delicate. The easiest way to deal with them is to turn color off in Customer adjust menu. Put any color tone adjustments in the middle (low, med, high, put at med).

You should have a b/w picture if there are no crt or other color related faults. If it is close to B/W leave screens alone.

If the pix is too green, then the green screen setting must be reduced a small amount. Do not play with these adjustments as most TV repairrers have a difficult time adjusting them.

If focus adjustments don't help then focus control or CRT may be defective. Needs expert to determine.

I have an HP 4600dn that is having trouble printing color.

there is a setting in the menu to adjust
go to Configuration
adjust color

you have to determine which way to adjust it on a X and Y axis

try changing the number X to a high # to see which way it moves then adjust from there.

Color on projection tv 9P6040-C104

The cooling fluid in the CRT's need to be replaced. This is a common issue with NAP projection TV's. The old fluid needs to be drained then the CRT faces cleaned then refill with new fluid.
