Please tell me if model #kv32fs100 is digital ready (sony trinitron)

Your set has a NTSC or standard anolog tunner. To watch digital programs you must have a catv box or a DTV converter.

Will it work in 2009

the answer to your question is yes but, only if you are using an areal antenna to veiw tv, you will need a converter. the change over only affects those who use an antenna and have a NTSC tuner.
if you have satelite, it is already a digital format no converter needed. the sat box is the converter
if you have cable you will not need a converter. most cable companies will still pass thru the anolog signal. but getting the digital service is not a bad thing.

Yes , this will switch the digital back to anolog so your set will still receive your channels . The cutoff date is Feb. 19th 2009 so you have alittle time left. The boxes will avg. between $50 to $190 or more depending on what you what the box to do . Also there are coupons available from the goverment for rebates that will give you $40.00 off the purchase price , go to your post office for more info . Good luck

Is this tv digital ready??

Best way to tell is to hookup to rabbit ears or outdoor antenna and run the autoprogram of your channels . If you get any stations with per say 8.1 or 6.2 then you have a digital tuner . If it only shows 8 or 20 no it is just an anolog tuner . You can buy tuner that will switch the broadcast for you . Average cost is $45 to $90 . Good luck

Is my tv digital?

your tv is not digital, but fear not the Dish network reciever is already digital. the satbox is digital and converts to your TV.
if you are worried about the conversion to digital this applies to off air broadcast (the stuff you get from an antenna in your local area). if you want to know if you can get HD on your set, well your out of luck there because that is a whole differant digiotal world.
to explain this better we have to understand the old broadcast world before we get into the digital world.
NTSC or National Television Systems Committee has been the standard that we have watched TV since the creation of TV (one size fits all). it is an anolog format that is plaged with problems in the broadcast world, snowy pictures due to poor reception, visible scan lines, and a whole host of other problems. so the US has adpopted a new broadcast standard ATSC or Advanced Television Systems Committee, formed in 1993 this committee came up with 18 formats to which a broadcaster may choose from to broadcast the message. of the 18 only 6 are HD or High Definition. this does not mean that your local broadcast has to provide HD but they must be digital in their broadcast (SD or HD). the advantage of going to digital is that you will never see a snowy picture ever again, you have the picture or you don't. also the broadcaster has now can broadcast multiple programs on their one carrier (frequency). so if you want HD you must have a set that can display this format and have the equipment to produce this to your set. the dish box you have may not be able to produce this signal to your NEW HD setso that may be needing to be upgraded.
