If your Nokia X6 16 GB Displays invalid sim card while inserting other Network GSM sim card like MTN ? It is locked to network. You need to specify which country and network it is locked now.I have bought an Nokia X6 16GB in INDIA but it was locked to Australia Vodafone network .I have unlocked it and now using it in USA AT&T network sim card.So you can unlock your Nokia X6 16GB from current network lock using the unlock code from the site Onlinegsmunlock.com after unlock it use with MTN network sim card or any GSM pay as you go sim card it will not display invalid sim card message.
you are installed a security code when you are using your old sim cards
so if you wont to install a new sim card you have to know your security code
1) insert your old sim card
2) switch on the phone and back up all data
3) Connect your phone to pc using Nokia PC Suite and Data cable
4) make sure about your data
5) Download the Nokia Software updater
6) Update your phone software or reinstall if you have already latest software
You're probably trying to use a SIM card from a network not supported by the country you're in.
Some networks don't have a roaming agreement between two or more networks service providers to enable the users of one service provider to use their services.
Purchase a new SIM card from a popular network in that country. Ask them to unlock your phone at the same time, because it might be locked on the original network, like Orange, Vodafone, t-mobile etc...
