Question about Canon PowerShot A710 IS Digital Camera
please let me know some tips to handle and restore the Canon A710 IS, it fell down in the water. I immidiately removed it within 1-2 sec. And removed the cells to avoide the danger. Please let me know the options to restart it. I am afraid of the damage and hence have not restarted it yet. Is it safe to restart it now? or we need to do some maintainance prior to restart?
Thanks in advance
No it's not safe to restart it now. Powering up the camera with any internal moisture still present may lead to shorts. Open all doors, and let is sit at least a week (maybe longer) to ensure all internal moisture has dried. Some also say to gently warm it on low with a hair dryer. But others say this may damage the camera. Personally don't see any problem, especially if you make sure it doesn't get hot. The warm air circulating through the open doors should help in drying.
