sorry for bad spelling
Hello, sorry for the question.
I have a labtop that the screen goes really black and you can hardly see the info on the screen.
It happend just like that, one day working the next day when turned on it does not.
I know the battery is bad it only holds about 30 minutes of energy but I always have the lab top plugged in.
Now is the screen broken?
Can I get the screen back?
I also have a hook up on back for a another monitor I plug into with a monitor but do not know how to get that to work .
Thanks for any help in advance.
Comment by rrakness, posted on Jan 20, 2008 Thanks for the help but that did not do the trick.
I plugged in the monitor and hooked up and turned on the labtop
The monitor said:
please check signal
Nothing came on.
I even tried another monitor and that would not come on either.
I heard something about pressing fn- f5 or f7 and tried those things and did not see anything .
after rechecking the battery it only holds about a few minutes of power.
Thanks for any help

Comment by rrakness, posted on Jan 21, 2008 Thought it was fixed but when I turn on the monitor the xp comes on and then logs on then it says out of frequance and goes blank
The video resolution and/or frequency that's set in windows is not supported by the monitor you have plugged in. Restart the PC in VGA mode (hit F8 after the BIOS messages but before any Windows messages) and change the video settings to something basic, such as 800 x 600 @ 60 Hz. Then restart the machine normally.
