Sony KDS-55A2020 picture goes blank then returns

This sounds like the ballast for the lamp is going. The ballast sparks the lamp, and if it starts to go, there's not enough current to keep the lamp sparked. Thus it starts to fail: it's the same principle as a fluorescent lamp fixture. Ballasts are available at any service depot, but they're fairly expensive, and perhaps prohibitively so; you may want to look at replacing the monitor itself.

The $1200 was for the lcd engine not the lamp. You should change the lamp. The buzz is the power supply trying to light the lamp.

Who said it cannot be fixed? You can try and hook an external speaker to wires and test for sound. Maybe audio outs have sound?

Buzzing speakers

It is merely degradation of the connection. Try unconnecting the speakers, cleaning the tips a bit, replacing them in, removing, recleaning, and then replacing a final time. This should get some scoring off of the connection... Aside from this, a new set of speaker wire is the best solution but just let me know what you decide on! Hope this helps!
