Sound like you need a battery replacement on that iPod. The only other possibility is that your motherboard is starting to corrupt and will need to be replaced. If you want some repair options or want to recycle that iPod, let me know.

About 2-3 weeks ago mouse went couldn't use, then the key board went out about a week ago. Shut down the computer, turn comp. off from back then upluged. after check to make sure everything was still...

Impossible to diagnose remotely. You need to try things like switching the computer off at the mains for a few minutes. If I had the computer I would try a different PSU.

I have a hp pavilion ze5170 laptop and it is shutting itself off for no apparent reason. anyone know what could be causing this? it doesnt appear to be software related. its not crashing just turning off.

Power drain would be a better solution in this case.
1.first shut down the comp
2.unplug the charger
3. remove the battery
and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery. After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer
