Problem for Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
Sound Card Not installed?
My Sound card was working perfectly until i restalled xp now according to device manager, windows media player , all of my games and the driver disk its not there. no hardware. zilch. it is there and looks plugged in properly. any advice would be appreciated cheers.

- Hey um i have it workin i opened my pc and installed in another pci slot and windows picked it up. turns out the slot was bust :DSame Problem

ya go to dell tell them your model downlaod sound driver ok install it work again

hi,
things you can check over here.
1. reinstall the audio drivers from the resource cd. in case that does not work ,download the drivers from
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen
just punch in your service tag and select the sound card installed and download the driver
2. reset the bios. that causes issues after reinstallations.
you can do that by following the steps below.
press f2 key on the dell logo screen.
press num lock, caps lock and scroll lok on keyboard so that all three are on. press alt + e together followed by alt + f.
press esc twice and select save changes and exit and your system would restart.
hope that works and fixes the problem.
